Reviews for A lord's speech
vcatrashfiend chapter 2 . 7/8/2014
Oh my! I just recently saw an ancient review you left me, leading me to this story. I am certainly happy that I've found myself reading it at last. This is wonderful!
Guest chapter 9 . 5/6/2013
Really enjoyed this! If for no other reason than I love My Fair Lady!
Ekaterina2324 chapter 9 . 5/9/2012
Very interesting story! Liked it :)
iviscrit chapter 9 . 3/30/2012
Wonderful story, m'dear. Almost AU, but not quite! I really enjoyed this and will be stalking your profile in the future. But I have an unrelated question for you: why in the world do you think Tom would be a countertenor? I think a rich baritone would be ideal!
iviscrit chapter 7 . 3/30/2012
"Of genial madmen, sir!"

Gah, I love it!
iviscrit chapter 6 . 3/30/2012
Too cute. Personally he was a bit OOC but whatever, I'm fond of this fic now and will overlook it.
iviscrit chapter 4 . 3/30/2012
D'aww. What a cute conversation. And I love the bit about the cooking, and I loved this: "Because this house, it…it makes a person wish to come over again. And again."
iviscrit chapter 3 . 3/30/2012
AAAAH! "The raaayn in Spaaayin staiys mAIYnly in th' plAIYN." Love it. You are wonderful. My Fair Lady is one of my all time favorites, and do you know, I always wondered why Voldy didn't have a Cockney accent, it makes sense that he would? Glad to see I was not alone in this thought!
iviscrit chapter 2 . 3/30/2012
Dude, i'm completely hooked. The incorporation of My Fair Lady with good old Voldy was brilliant. Why didn't I think of that?

Fabulous start. Reading on.
What-Ansketil-Did-Next chapter 7 . 1/19/2012
Argh! I love this so much (and, omg, 'Unusual Way' is like my theme for 'You Know Who')! You're quite brilliant in the way you manage to mesh everything together here so beautifully. I like my favourite line is "...a young orphaned ambitious delinquent with psychopathic trends and an idée fix for world domination..." it just killed me. I adore the way you write in that particular, old fashioned way.

And thank you for the picture, by the way - it is perfect - I can't remember if I thanked you, Christmas and New Year was crazy-work-time for me. Thanks again for writing this piece of gorgeousness! _

Ansketil. Xx.
Krysania chapter 9 . 1/19/2012
In a better wopld it had happened like in your story... I love you for it...
Kittie Darkhart chapter 8 . 1/13/2012
Oh, when you said that the ending would be a bit sad, I automatically assumed that there would be deaths involved. I'm so glad to see that such wasn't the case, although the parting scene is, no less, very poignant indeed.

I confess that I do like how you wrap this brillaint little story up, with Tom confessing that, although he doesn't believe in God, he believes in Eliza. I believe that you remained quite true to his character. Also, the impact that Henry and Eliza made on him, with his choosing a different path from the one he'd originally intended to take makes for an almost bittersweet what-if scenario, had the actual canon gone in such a way. It's a nice what-if, nonetheless.

Anyway, again, this story is just funny and originl and wonderful and brillaint. I do hope to see more of these heart-warming stories you, Kate. You write them all so very well, my friend!

All the best,

— Kittie
Sachita chapter 9 . 1/12/2012
I loved your story! It was wonderful to read and I am glad I was able to catch up after my absence. Kudos to you. :)

Best wishes ! Julia :)
Sachita chapter 8 . 1/12/2012
Oh noooo :( :( :( Still, the idea of Tom going off to war is an interesting one. I loved this chapter too though, in a very bittersweet way. Wonderfully-done!
Sachita chapter 7 . 1/12/2012
I liked this first ending very much and I am looking forward to reading the second one. And I have to agree with Tom; train food (along with the food they offer in the university canteen) is not something that anyone would actually want to eat let alone smell :D
