The fact that this is where this fic seems to have ended is a downright tragedy. I would be hard pressed to think of a single FOZ fanfic I've ever enjoyed more. Spectacular job on all fronts, even this story forever lies unfinished.

That was an emotional roller-coaster. Knew next to nothing of Familiar of Zero going in, and came out wanting to see our rag-tag group of heroes make it out of this alive.

About Madokami: "before"? What is "before"? In a strictly linear sense, Madokami existed before Madoka. :P I joke, but there's always the possibility for an epilogue. Really, I want that less for their happy ending, and more just to see them meet the Holy Quintet in person. They really should get to talk with a more experienced meguca at some point.

Tangentially, I was surprised to see how little they tried using their traditional spells while transformed to see what kind of effects it might have. There also wasn't much follow up to Louise's remaining void magic as she was able to read the prayer book and her meguca powers definitely have a void slant to them as opposed to the fire she casts when untransformed.

Technically, Void exists as an element in Magia Record, though it's exclusive to Mitama. "Magic of the Soul"? Ya, that sounds like what Mitama does.

For Jeanette, we already have pink, yellow, blue, and (previously) red, and Jeanette would round out the rainbow with purple. With Cattleya slowly bringing her to the side of good and her tragic backstory contributing to her karmic potential, I can very easily see her as the fifth ranger and resident DMG (Dark Magical Girl). Overall, she very much gives me a Fate Testarossa vibe.

Aren't the Incubators a hive mind. Much like the Borg. There aren't individual units beyond the physical bodies. So I'm not sure how a single one could be corrupted. Although actually I suppose it's like being separated from the collective in Star Trek. The difference being, it can still communicate with the rest of the species. Honestly I'd suspect them of immediately purging any incubators that develop emotions.

But she pulled a mini-homura and poured her emotions into an incubator. Cool. Although it'll probably backfire somehow..

Kyubey is displaying too much emotion imo. And by that I mean any. It just breaks my immersion a wee bit.

Tbh, I find it unlikely they can reverse the magical girl process. I suspect the only way to un-magic girl would be for someone else to make a wish that made them human again. Additionally, using magic does taint the soul gem. In fact, just existing slowly corrupts the soul gem. So they will need grief seeds to avoid becoming witches. Although I guess the incubators goal is to bring witches to this world so they can make more magical girls.

Louise’s character feels different. I think it’s because she’s acting like a mature person? I’m not sure...
