Reviews for Double Trouble
Tsukiyo69 chapter 46 . 1/10/2014
Well, I just read a second time your fiction and my opinion hasn't change : It's the best fiction with Minato as a jinchuuriki I have read until now.
I hope you will soon post the next chapter. It's just sooooo great !

Good job! Keep it up!
Kari-Kateora chapter 46 . 6/19/2013
D'ooooooh! This was ADORABLE! Little Shikamaru. :3 And the 'father-talk' about their boys? Priceless and sooooo precious!

I really love how the two don't really bat an eyelid at the news. I mean, with everything safe and in control, they really reacted as one would have come to expect after 45 chapters: "Meh. Okay." Shikaku in particular's rather funny with his indifference. It's as if he doesn't see any reason for the kerfuffle. Te, on the other hand, almost feels as if he thinks Fugaku is making a big deal out of things. Which is kind of hilarious, since I can't imagine Fugaku all anxious and the other two just playing shoji without chuckling to myself. xD

It sort of felt weird when Shikaku called Minato 'Yondaime-sama'. They're in his house, and Minato's a classmate. Te and Fugaku are all on really good terms with him, so the formality feels redundant and out of character, sort of.

'Fugaku' attacking Minato. Che. The implications you hinted at might be veeeeery interesting, especially since Minato's currently not too capable of curbing any stray tongues (Danzo?). Still.

With the conclusion of your next chapter, things should get extremely interesting. XD
Kari-Kateora chapter 45 . 6/1/2013
As always, Fugaku's humor gets to me. xD He's such a steadfast guy that seeing him thrown into the fox's jaws is more than amusing, as is his uncertainty. Even more so when I'm pretty sure he would shrug the entire experience off later as nothing he couldn't have handled with ease, and to please stop wasting his time.

Gotta love the guy.

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but the thought of Minato not caring if he was killing himself is rather... chilling. I mean... the way the guy talks about needless self-sacrifice, I would suppose him killing himself due to stupidity would be a big no-no. The situation must be really bad for him to stoop so low.

Huh. I just realized that the scene really reminds me of an irate adult who's bad with kids scolding the kid for not being in bed already. No wonder Fugaku's uncomfortable and irritable. XD

I continue to love the Kyuubi and Fugaku's interactions. We know he's afraid, but Fugaku's being quite direct with Kurama, ne? I mean, even Minato was just pressing him for information. Fugaku, on the other hand, is basically holding a conversation. Kurama's doing it, too. It might be because they both want to end an unpleasant situation, but it almost feels as if they're grudgingly accepting each other. And that is beyond cool. Can't wait until they meet again!

Wait- Minato keeled over. In a hall filled with blood. So filled, in fact, that Fugaku had to slosh over to him.
...
Eeeewww. The poor man's lying in (his own?) blood. That is deliciously gruesome, and I need my head examined.

So, poor Fugaku's been put through a good deal. I'm really curious to see how he reacts when Minato does wake up, and what sort of conversation they're going to hold. Should be veeeery interesting.

As always, keep up the good work! XD
Lagadatte chapter 45 . 5/31/2013
Weeell this review took me awhile! I did read it right away (once again on the tube) but exams kept me busy... In any case, another wonderful chapter, I love, love, looove Fugaku's depiction, he's well turning out to be one of my favourite characters of your story (and that's something to see if I can look past my Minato obsession :p ). Most other fics portray him as unnecessarily cold or cunning - your portrayal I think is the golden middle and his unwavering loyalty to Minato is... touching in a very weird way. (- same can be said about their relationship in general).

I adore the little interaction with Kyuubi as well and the way in which that "untamed beast" treats Fugaku almost respectfuly despite its animosity towards Uchiha in general (thank Madara and Tobito for that). It's plausible that it didn't reveal its name, I was left with the impression that knowing those names suggests an understanding of the Bijuu that Fugaku doesn't have... but seems to be closer to all of a sudden.

Love the last image somehow, Minato's blood dying on his fingertips, there is something splendidly morbid about it and somehow it left a lasting impression.

Can't wait to see what happens next really, I'm so excited! Keep up the good work and I hope I can read more for DT soon!
A Midsummer chapter 45 . 5/30/2013
So many shit has happened that Fugaku didn't even have the energy to be pompous and deal with the Kyuubi.
seaweed chapter 45 . 5/27/2013
It is astonishing how you manage with so few words to create a cohesive story that flows beautifuly, reads quickly without boring you, is in character and has the right amount of GOOD action! I only hope for a good ending now!
Shiki Shiori chapter 45 . 5/26/2013
maan... This story is really interesting. Though, I suggest that some of them made into a larger chapter...
X-elemental chapter 42 . 5/16/2013
Cheers for longest chapter yet! *chuckle*

"Orochimaru threw himself into a shunshin, reappearing some way ahead, disgorging his sword in a single swift motion."

And I just must commend that skill at deepthroating, Sasuke must have had wonderful three years in Oto.
A Midsummer chapter 44 . 5/11/2013
Ahahahahaha! I can't stop laughing. Fugaku almost shit his pants. Poor guy. I think I now know where Sasuke inherited the unflappably arrogance he got that essentially say 'I bow to no one'. I think Itachi had a shred of that too. Gotta give the man brownie points for intriguing the Kyuubi into being civil whether unintentional or not. Quite a feat.

Namikaze has the right to be paranoid seeing as you almost decimated his village to a rubble. Give him a break, Kurama.
Kari-Kateora chapter 44 . 5/11/2013
You know, I usually have one or two lines in each chapter that I adore. Usually, they're towards the end, where the central idea of the chapter has unfolded and you're using your considerable wit. Here, however, I found myself stopping at the second line.

That parenthesis [(against?)] is freakin' awesome. I can't even explain why. I think I really like the tone it sets to the entire chapter: slightly errant, with Fugaku's thoughts straying just a little. Yes, that's it, I think; along with the witty humor, it sets the tone for Fugaku's POV and distinguishes him as a character from Minato with a different inner-monotone voice.

And you say you do this sort of stuff randomly. 3

I absolutely adore the imagery. The focus on how the chakra looks is actually really interesting and, given what you want to portray, works really, really well. The transition into the Hall is also very abrupt, which in this case, is excellent. I quite like imagining Fugaku's surprise at entering Minato's mind, since I'm rather sure it was unintentional. Heh. Poor, poor Uchiha. I remember that time in the Naka shrine when the Kyuubi rattled the cage and Fugaku panicked. I wonder how he's feeling now. 3

["You talk?!" was the first thing out of Fugaku's mouth (no shit, genius, he thought).[
XDXDXD Yep- scared out of his mind. Brilliant. I'm laughing at the poor guy's expense, but it's too cute.

But it's really interesting how he gets past his initial surprise enough to feel annoyed at himself and try to act dignified, s if that little outburst never happened. And I can see the transition from 'fear' to 'annoyance' to 'aggression as defense' when he asks the Kyuubi's name. And, as Lay said without being able to explain why, it really is brilliant. We know Fugaku as a no-nonsense guy who's proud and dignified. And this suits him. A lot.

As a sidenote, I think I like how it's Fugaku, and not Minato. The Father isn't following the son's 'Yay we must all get along; be my friend, Kyuuuubiiiii! 3333' policy (yet?), which is... nice.

[and a flare of chakra shattered the scene.]
Did the Kyuubi do that? No, wait- probably Minato's flare of chakra. But why did the scene dissolve? Was the Kyuubi fully suppressed, and thus appeared behind the bars again?

["The Yondaime is overreacting," the Kyūbi answered in a long-suffering tone of voice]
Have I mentioned I love your Kurama? No? I adore him. You do deadpan really well and, to be honest, he kinda has a point here.

[Minato's chakra did seem to be attempting an ouroboros impression. He suspected he knew what the 'mud' flooding the hall was. "...You want to talk to me later?"]
Aaand that's what I meant by errant thoughts. XD Here we have a shattering revelation; Minato's basically killing himself in his sleep. And what does Fugaku's mouth say? It grasps at the last thing the Kyuubi said with mild surprise. I love this guy. 3

I really can't wait for the rest of this scene. I wonder if solving this would be as simple as explaining to Minato (mid-mindscape) that he's safe. But you said he's rather confused... Hm.
Anyway, that conversation is going to be epic. 3

Lagadatte chapter 44 . 5/10/2013
Hi there! I'm terribly sorry for not commenting earlier, there was always a thing or two (like reading updates from my phone) to stand in the way and I do have a memory to rival that of a goldfish... Now that being said, though, I absolutely adore your story and I have been following it for awhile now! (Thank you, Kari, for the excellent recommendation).

Your portrayal of Minato warms me up on the inside - it's absolutely within character I believe, exactly as I always thought he would act and interact with the people around him. I adore his relationship with his ANBU and their absolute trust and respect for him; the situation with the Uchiha is making me grin like an idiot sometimes - Minato's relationship with Fugaku is amazingly described, very realistic and also... this will sound weird... but kind of touching.

Which kind of brings me to this new chapter! At first when I read that Fugaku was the first person to ask the Kyuubi its name I was like "...what?" and then two seconds later it hit me: brilliant! _ That's an amazing idea really! Embarassingly enough, I can't even explain why I like it so much - it just... sounds right. It ties in great with your portrayal of the guy, which is different to the cold person we see in the anime, but then again we did learn later on that Fugaku was not ACTUALLY like that, therefore props to you for coming up with it!

The social and political aspects of the story are expertly dealt with as well, it is an absolute joy to read them. I can't wait to see how Minato will handle the Hyuuga problem of the Main and Branch families (and I believe he is already dealing with the Uchiha issue aptly). Your writing style is great as well, it draws you in, f.e. during that fight against Orochimaru, I swear, there was a moment when I had stopped breathing :D I can actually visualise most any scene you write about!

If I had any negative points to add, I probably forgot them (gold fish, remember? :D ), since I AM reviewing 44 chapters in one, BUT, I will review each following one from now on and if something sticks out I will point it out (I do doubt it, however, your work is amazing as it is )

All and all, I hope you keep up the good work, I enjoy every line of it! Thank you for sharing your wonderful story with us
A Midsummer chapter 43 . 4/30/2013
While waiting for something new on Minato's side of the Naruto Archives, I got a pleasant surprise to see this fic updated. I had to backtrack to a few chapters since my memory of the plot details and recent events are rather fuzzy. Hmm...Orochimaru provokes Minato and gets Kyuubi pawned instead. Good riddance to that snake bastard. Seeing Minato on such a dangerous state, I really envy Naruto's heritage. Minato's unstable and worse of all, he's dying! Damn.
