I love reading your stories, especially of Evelyn and Fenris. I’ve read and re-read At Your Side so many times and it never ceases to capture my attention. And to find that you have added more to the story with these tidbits? So great. Thank you for providing such great stories, especially for those of us who need it.

The image of Fenris rocking Bianca to sleep is so sweet! I’d get up to see that too, Hawke, I’m right there with you. A much nicer experience than lame old sleep.

Papa!Fenris is one of my all-time fav headcanons and I see him as such a loving father, outwardly stern, but super squishy and powerless inside against a pair of big, pleading, puppy eyes. I like to think it’s Hawke’s payback for making her melt every time he looks at her with his own puppy eyes LOL. Now you know how it feels, Fenris!

Sometimes the worst part of this couple is the torment they put themselves through before they finally get together lol. I too adore his expressions when fighting; such determination, strength, and beauty in what he does...it's enough to always make me fall for him time and time again. I imagine it's worse for Hawke ;)

And of course his typical attitude that she is out of his reach; I adore and hate how he looks down at himself sometimes, and long for the moment when he realizes he is better than his past.

Thank you for this...I have missed them, and more importantly, I have missed your version of them.

Oh Fenris...sometimes you just want to strangle some sense into him ;)

The turnabout is so skillfully done I was a couple sentences into Hawke's thoughts before I consciously noticed. It felt quite cinematic to me; pulling away from yearning, sorrowing Fenris, a swirl through a heady daydream, and settling down next to an equally pained Evelyn. Lovely.

Awww nooo, no sad Hawke Fenris! I do adore how you write them, can never get enough from you. I too wish things were different, that there wasn't such a gap before they could finally be together. Heartbreaking to see him endure such suffering from his own actions, even if he thought they were right. And to feel her pain, as we've all felt as women before at some point in our lives... *sigh* another beautifully written chapter.

Such a careful, yearning spin on that fretful game-of-glances early stage of a relationship. I loved seeing more of Fenris' imaginings, as we saw Evelyn's in 'AYS', and the imagery of Fenris, standing in the broken-down surroundings of the slums, with his face lit my moonlight ... lovely and crystal clear.

I'd almost forgotten about this, and I'm very glad you didn't! A nice very walk down memory lane (and a reminder of the terrible predicament they're in in the future, but no spoilers here!). Cheers, Biff

What a lovely way of showcasing not only the depth of Evelyn's and Fenris's love for each other, but some of the challenges (and truly appalling opinions) that they would have to face and deal with.

And it would just have to be Varric to visit a tad of retribution on the Nevarran clod, wouldn't it? He not only hears everything that happens, anywhere, it's an instantaneous thing, which is the real trick. :)
