Reviews for Horse Sense
Elise chapter 11 . 2/10/2019
Very cool.
Caffeinedelusion chapter 11 . 1/30/2014
I can't help but feel compelled to hope for a follow up with a focus on Chicago over Equestria. That's ground no one seems to have trod upon in this particular crossover mix.
CV12Hornet chapter 10 . 10/6/2013
This is clearly set before A Canterlot Wedding. Because that was a fight, and as we saw in the IDW comics, Chrysalis is one nasty villain.
Afalstein chapter 11 . 3/4/2013
This fic deserves at least one more review. I'm no expert in Harry Dresden, but I rather liked your characterization of him, and you definitely conveyed the shock of violence that he would bring to an Equestrian world. Most fics bypass that problem by having the visitor hide it, or just have the visitors be really nice while in the world, but your depiction of ponies traumatized by the violence they are utterly unfamiliar with was good, and fit in well with the story's theme.

If I had to guess what's keeping the story from being more popular, I would say it's probably because the fic is too much Harry and not enough Pony. Not just in terms of POV-the whole story IS written by Harry, after all-but also in terms of tone. In a way, that's the point, since they're facing a very Harry-like threat, but the ponies and Harry never really seem to connect... they never ask much about his world, and he doesn't share. You did a good job of having the ponies be equal participants in the victory, but they're two distinct groups, most of the time.

A couple of VERY nice points, though. One, you made Twilight a human. It was only in the first chapter, and it didn't have much effect on anything, but still unusual. Turning humans into ponies is practically a staple of the genre, but this is the first pony-to-human transformation I've seen (granted, I'm new to this fandom). And it was a very interesting description. Two, you actually MADE the world a cartoon. It didn't come up much again, but I thought it was an interesting way to present it-not as a cartoon brought to life, but an actual cartoon that people lived in. And Three, you made Celestia wrong about something, without ruining the perfection that she represents. Making Celestia APPROVE of the Hunter would have been quite a stretch, and the scene you had between her and Harry showed that while she can be tough when the situation demands, still she doesn't quite appreciate the importance of the natural order.
Zhuull chapter 11 . 1/14/2013
Wonderful story. The real question is though was it Pinkie or Celestia who put the sign on his back. Also why no live for the Luna? There was a distinct lack of her in this story.
Guest chapter 11 . 1/6/2013
Oh, Celestia. She wanted the Hunter dead, she lusted for his blood even knowing that just bumping him off would destroy the balance of her world, and she's unable or unwilling to do it herself. So she gets all snippy with Dresden for doing what she can't or won't do and fixing the problem.

She may have four legs instead of two, but she's allllllllllll woman.
Burc'ya Ordo chapter 11 . 10/4/2012
Hm. Not quite what I had expected...but still, absolutely wonderful.

Good mechanics, spelling, etc., and an excellent use of both dialogue and narration. I'm very surprised you've gotten so few reviews for such a wonderful little piece. Let's see if we can't remedy that.
Necrovore chapter 11 . 5/10/2012
Amusing story. You have 'FIN' at the end, should it be assumed that the story is complete and you have forgotten to mark it as such, or should we expect more?
detepe chapter 11 . 5/9/2012
Hurray, Logic Mouse writes again!

I almost missed this since crossovers aren't always on my radar - I promise to keep a more open mind.

The story was very good, although my MLP knowledge is limited. Harry was Harry, only with hooves, mane & tail. Great fun.
petros308 chapter 11 . 4/11/2012
As usual, your writing of Dresden is spot of for him as a character. I have no reference for "My Little Pony" so I guess they were well done as well. I would of liked to see Harry drop off the sword to the Erlking because I like the sort of interaction they have. I hope you write more stuff.
Fire From Above chapter 11 . 3/29/2012
Nice resolution. Thank you for the fun story.
Fire From Above chapter 10 . 3/29/2012
Amazing to see Harry figure everything out over this chapter. And a stone-cold Celestia is definitely different. Great job overall, too much good stuff.
Cap'n Chryssalid chapter 11 . 3/28/2012
This was a very solid, well put together fanfic. It is actually the second fic that is a MLP-DF crossover, though I've never seen the Dresden Files myself. It is easy enough to follow. It is also the second to use first person, which is a surprise.

Two (three) things stuck out in reading it: excellent use of vocabulary and prose, along with a very smooth transition into and through the plotline. The only weak spot, I think, was that the antagonist for the piece got so little light that it was hard to see him as anything but ancillary to the broader confrontation. This may have been the intention all along, though, so it isn't a particularly glaring "weakness" - the story is less about defeating him and more about the interactions and themes along the way.

Thank you for this fic.

I'm very glad I checked out the recc.
Fire From Above chapter 9 . 3/28/2012
Nice breather chapter.
Fire From Above chapter 8 . 3/28/2012
Like how Harry is seeing the fundamental differences between their worlds.
