Wow. The amount of detail in this fic really blows my mind. My favourite part was probably when they were all doing genjutsu training - I liked the idea of the Core exercise, and it was exciting to see Sakura figure out how to break each of the illusions, and what each round would bring next.
I have no words for the sealing process and the explanation of genjutsu. While there was a lot to both, it felt like they fitted seamlessly into (at least my knowledge of) Naruto lore.
The characterisation was also extremely on point, and I liked how you took things I didn't even consider into, well, consideration. (e.g. the fact that Kurama's chakra emerged when Naruto was frustrated that he couldn't dispel the genjutsu, or how Sakura's body and her limited chakra reserves would've reacted to the curse seal.)
Just... wow. Well done.

Can I just say how impressed I am by this? I don't often find stories that maintain tone so well that I remember to comment on it, but this one does. It has a serious feel, with Sakura's more subdued character due to her father, and the tone and characterization is maintained throughout the chapters. There's good pacing and scene presence, and grammar is very clean and sharp. The world-building is great, too, what with the seal details and genjutsu training with Raidou.

Off the top of my head, the time jump between genin graduation to the Wave Arc could have had more of a transition (and maybe jumping into the Forest of Death, but I can't remember clearly right now), but transitions, while important, are a smaller thing for me in this case. A larger aspect that I wanted to comment on was the pacing. To me, you hit key scenes per this story while eliminating unnecessary scenes (in this case, for example, meeting Tazuna is left out since it's the same as canon, while jumping into the Mist-nin-puddle attack is more important since Sakura's automatic first kill sets the stage for the rest of the arc). The plot pacing is tight, and that's very impressive.

I like also how Sakura's differences have altered realistically Team 7's dynamic and affected the story up to Sakura getting the curse seal in place of Sasuke. A couple of my favorite sections so far are Kakashi considering sabotaging Team 7 out of the Chunin Exams when he's ordered to submit them and Sasuke choosing to forfeit the exams to save Sakura. I also liked Sakura's moment with Kakashi after her first kill and Kakashi getting the team another C-rank (a nice inclusion to prove that not all C-ranks go awry). Since Sakura has the curse seal now (likely making her inner demons worse just like Sasuke's became worse), I really hope that Team 7 learns about the effects of the seal so that everyone's on the same page and they can help her. It feels like this Kakashi would do it, though.

I'm sorry if this is a little scattered. I'm having difficulty stringing my words together right now, but I wanted to try and express what I've enjoyed so far and how much I've enjoyed reading this. I look forward with much enthusiasm for more chapters (as well as the potential revisions of Childhood, since that one has a lot of potential, too). Thanks for a wonderful read. I wanted to sob during this chapter. I had to put it away and come back to it, I was so emotional. You wrote Kakashi so beautifully, and his non verbal concern. The tech speak was engaging without being overbearing. Even Jiraiya shown through as his own character. This.. worth a three year wait :))))))

Oh my staaaaars this CHAPTER. It took longer to read than normal because my eyes kept skipping ahead trying to DEVOUR it and I had to go back to read it over. Aside from the divergence from canon (yay this choice!) getting Sasuke’s perspective on everything was amazing. Ohhh, the beginning of breaking down his walls, and then the relief at rescue. I can’t wait to see where we go from here.

Loving that Kakashi is at least trying to figure her out this time. Geniuses can be so dumb.
