I have to admit, when I started reading I thought this fic was going the canon route. I was really startled when it... didn't. Which isn't a bad thing - Seneca's decision NOT to let Peeta and Katniss win was a great twist! I didn't see that coming at all.

I don't know if it's because I loved Seneca's role in the movie, or if it was your writing (probably a combination of both), but I really found myself sympathizing with him in this fic. Seneca was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and I couldn't help wondering if he would somehow manage to survive with this different decision, though I had a feeling he wouldn't.

But, of course, given the prompt (and the world the characters live in), he didn't. I like your emphasis on fate, and how, while Seneca did have choices (to let Katniss and Peeta live or die, to eat the berries or die of starvation), the outcome remained the same.

You switched tenses several times, especially in the beginning of the fic. There were also a few grammatical and spelling errors, but I don't think they detracted that much from the story.

It was pretty good. I didn't see any hugely distracting spelling or grammar issues so it was fine in that department. In all honesty, I wasn't a huge fan of how much it was based on the movie. I've always been more of a "stick to the book" person so you can blame it on that. With someone being named Lucia and Seneca Crane being locked in the room with the nightlock, it was obviously movie based. Other than that it was good.

Using the poetic scene from the movie and matching it with the prompt 'inescapable' was very clever. Nice work!

Aw, my heart aches for Seneca. It's a shame-unlike Snow, he was rasied to believe this was all okay, so he probably is truly not that bad a person. Oh and SENECA Y U NO BREAK OUT? *y u no guy*
