Hahaha! This story could really continue into something! A full storyline about "amon" actually being a chi blocking Bumi. It could really go into the social aspects that gets glossed over typically. It would be very interesting and I wish someone like you would write it. I would try, but would no doubt do a disservice to your masterful setup. Good luck in future writing endeavors )

I wouldn't actually believe bumi is amon because katara says "BUMI and .kya were hyper" so I would think that bumi would be caught up in his world of wackyness to actually care if he had a bending ability. :D

I want Bumi to be Amon. I think that would be the coolest thing ever. This will probably sound stupid. But I want a brother brother riverly. Angust drama and maybe just maybe remorse and regert. So coooooooool.

Yup, there are a lot of people speculating that Amon is Bumi behind the mask, ever since word got out that Aang and Katara's middle child is a nonbender. The story you wrote here covers the basic reason-jealousy of his bender siblings-as well as establishing the resources he'd have to give the Equalist movement viable weapons againt benders, namely Ty Lee's teachings. Well done!

But just for the heck of it, I'm gonna give my counter-proposal/theory here:

Instead of being Bumi, Amon is actually is Tenzin’s son from his first marriage! Think about it; Tenzin is at least forty years old, probably closer to fifty, but the oldest child of his that we saw in the premiere, Jinora, is clearly less than ten years old. Tenzin is Aang’s only airbending child, and it’s already been established in the world of ATLA that people tend to marry young. As a VIP in Republic City, he had to have had eligible ladies surrounding him as soon as he was of dating age. So why doesn’t Tenzin have children in their twenties and even grandchildren by now? Answer: there’s a skeleton in Tenzin’s closet, a non-bending first child that felt his parents’ and grandparents’ quiet disappointment too keenly and too often, and became embittered by it, to the point of rebelling against all bending. He wears a mask because in their last bitter argument, Tenzin's son told his father that he’d never see his face again…

I have this theory too and I tried putting it out there to the people at the Avatar wiki. I got shot down hard and chewed out for it. I do hope Bumi and Kya eventually show up though and the family dynamic is addressed.
