I really loved this story! I thought you wrote it extremely well
Caroline C chapter 1 . 7/13/2016
I loved, the descriptiveness about his piece. You wrote it very well. And as someone who has read MUCH canon, this did not feel odd. You have nothing to worry about, with this being your first comic literature. I loved this piece so much! I liked how it didn't name Thor and Loki in the beginning. It was wonderful. Absolutely no criticism. :)

Okay, damn, am I glad I came across you! I fully intend to read all of your work here, and leave comments on all of it. But let me start with this.

This is simply brilliant! No joke. This was incredible, and so utterly heartbreaking, I'm barely able to articulate just how deeply it affected me. In so few words too, you managed to convey the utter tragedy of Loki as a character, and the tragedy of his life.

How you conveyed the neglect he suffered, and how it slowly, insidiously began to ruin him, was absolute genius. It wasn't anything exactly overt or obvious, but subtle, small things, but no less impactful and affecting to Loki.

I just about died, how you described as a very young child, Loki didn't notice these things, how he didn't notice the way Odin would touch and hold Thor and never do the same for him, or the way Frigga would display Thor's flowers proudly, while pushing his own off to the side. Or the way the other children would run after and follow Thor's lead, while leaving him alone. Loki wouldn't notice these things, but they occurred nonetheless.

And as he grows older, and he slowly begins to feel it, begins to take note the differences between how he's treated and how Thor is, man, just utterly devastating.

That final scene, I can't think of a more tragic example of Loki's pain. The way he goes to share a new spell with Odin that he's learned, and Odin just so casually dismisses him, and tells him he's busy. And what's really awful here is that, when Loki leaves, and sees Thor, he still is holding on to this hope, this belief that Odin doesn't favor Thor over him, that Odin will just as quickly dismiss Thor. He still clings to that belief. And man, when Thor goes in and doesn't emerge after so many minutes, and Loki can hear the two of them laughing behind the door, fuuuuuuudge, I just felt my heart shatter into about nine million pieces.

You are an amazing writer, and I'm seriously looking forward to reading the rest of your work here. Your ability to capture and convey emotion and the depth of feeling in Loki, is just astounding, and I can tell too from your brief bits of dialog in this piece that you have both his and Thor's and everyone else's voices down pat.

Exceptionally well done, and I'm off to check out your other work! Thank you so much for sharing!

This was excellent! Are you a poet as well? You really made me feel this one with all of that imagery! If you don't already write poems, you should have a go at it! Your selective word choice is astounding :)

Poor Loki. Slighted and neglected in favor of Thor all his life, is it any wonder that he grew so jealous that he'd sabotage Thor's coronation? And this insidious favoritism probably accounts for a good deal of Thor's arrogance in the movie, his supreme sense of entitlement.

Well done. I hope you will write many other fics in the Avengers verse!

Great fic. Wonderful. You've got both Thor and Loki spot on - how Thor is carelessly ignorant of the favourable treatment, and how Loki bottles all of his emotions up in reserve. Seriously nice fic, I hope you write more :)
