God this story is so good!
Latimeira chapter 28 . 7/14/2017
If I am being completely honest with myself, I wasn't going to read this.
I was going to skip over it because it didn't look interesting, because it didn't have many reviews, because it didn't seem like anything special. I wasn't looking for anything rated M, didn't want to deal with anything super dark because I wasn't in the mood.
But this work of fiction has taken me on an emotional ride that has reduced me to tears more than once, and there's a certain thrill to be found in Tim's development.
This is an amazing story and I wish more people will see that and realize it. Even if you don't update anymore, I will always come back to The Green Knight, because it's a sorrowful tale of loss and acceptance and kinship.

(I freaking love Benjamin too oh my gosh)

Is there going to be more? I would like to see a chapter that time says something, even if it's just a word or two. It could even be that he only speaks in front of damian or todd.
Remmy18 chapter 28 . 10/30/2016
I really like how much Damian had grown and how he reacts to Tim. Wish this story would continue...
Wynter Spite chapter 28 . 8/20/2016
Wow. This is the first batfamily fic I've read to the end, and I've got to say, I am not disappointed.
Sophia the Scribe chapter 28 . 6/26/2016
Any chance of this story being continued? It's amazing and beautiful and I really, really wish there was more...all the way to a spectacular ending! Thanks for sharing this much, anyway!
Blessings,

A beautifully written spin on the story of the Batfamily. I do wish it had continued to an ending, but ah well; thank you for sharing so much as you did. Marvelous work. :]
Father of Understanding chapter 17 . 4/7/2016
Damian still IS cranky. XD

By the way, Tim and Superboy have to talk.

Wait a second. I'm rereading this most excellent story that I hope is not permanently abandoned, and I just absorbed the bit in the summary about being named for *the Heather Dale song.* Not the ancient poem she was retelling? I mean, I'll go listen to it now-I'm rather fond of Heather Dale, and maybe there's an important difference.

...she left out the RATHER IMPORTANT bit where the green knight reattaches his head after Gawain cuts it off. AND she oversimplified the ending and rather seriously changed the moral. Uhm. I have no idea what to think. Except that's a nice refrain but whyyyyyy.

Well, I guess I'll actually review the story part, like a decent person. So, applying the 'Beyond' fate to comics Tim is something awful that I never realized I wanted before I read this. Jason taking over the kitchen because Alfred is irreplaceable is great, in all kinds of ways, but I am holding fast to a belief that they all do their own laundry. Dick being sincerely good in a way that is selfish and frequently counterproductive is *so right.*

The dynamic between Damian and Tim is amazing. Because they aren't different people, it's just completely different times in their lives. And Damian is trying so hard, and doing so much better than Bruce because he doesn't have his guilt getting in the way. And there is no better way to emphasize how worthy a successor Damian is than having Tim communicate by way of pizza 'YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW BATMAN WHEN I SEE HIM?'

Other highlights include Tim's trepidation about Alfred the cat serving them cat food and 'just dogs. on fire. night after night.' And the 'native languages' sequence, the way Jason ended it. And the fact that Tim is definitely, slowly, getting better.

And just. This whole household. What the hell does Gotham as a whole think of Damian Wayne, living alone in his mansion with his adopted brother and his cat and no staff? (And considering Jason's lackadaisical attitude toward being seen and things like delivery pizza, there has to be some level of knowledge that it isn't actually just the two of them and the cat, so.) Also, apparently no Roombas. That has nothing to do with public opinion, just something I noticed. Having some familiarity with just how hard it is to keep floors acceptably clean.

Also like the way you're dealing with Tim's elective muteness, symbolically and practically. I'm kind of surprised Dick isn't coaxing him to write little notes, but that halfway-point 'solution' probably crashed and burned two decades ago.

God. Twenty years of guilt, he's carrying. He's handling it fairly well, really.

Also, what sequence of events led to Damian developing the habit of calling Arkham 'Azkaban?' I'm assuming it was Dick's fault, obviously.
