Uh, WOW? Hello, hero, let me bow at your feet. I love how quiet and underground all the emotions in this fic are, how it's left open to interpretation but still hits all the right notes. And NATASHA'S CHARACTERIZATION OMIGOD, I literally cannot, she is my favorite Avenger and she's perfect here.

"She turns around, and for a second he thinks he can see the remnants of the girl she used to be, the girl he'll never know. The ghost of a dead girl in the snow."

That is so stunning, all the implications of 'dead' and the really profound loneliness that's so completely out of the ordinary for her-she cannot imagine being anything other than what she is, even if what she is is hardened, broken and put back together kinda messily.

And then Clint's POV is just so sweet and well done with the right balance of subtlety and self-consciousness and bluntness and I really, really love you.
