This is awesome. Why doesn't it have more reviews? Thanks for this, seriously, your writing style is so neat. Also, I appreciate how much background you put in here because I know very little about these characters outside of the movieverse and finding it online is a pain in the neck. Writing like yours encourages me to keep working with my own stuff, so keep up the exccellent work!

I read this twice, it was that good. It's absolutely heartbreaking. If I had one request, it'd be a second chapter that shows how they've found a place to be safe (seeing as that's the title) with each other as they develop into a stronger team, a new family of sorts.

I nearly cried. The Tony one, I don't know, that one was especially sad, maybe because later on in life he's the most obviously messed up. Thor had a perfect childhood and doesn't have any insecurities, so good call not putting him in. Just as well written as your others. You got every detail in there perfect, explaining in a few short paragraphs the complete character of these people. Why Barton hides up high, why Bruce controls his rage, why Tony is a madman on the outside because he's hiding from lies. It didn't occur to me until later, but Natasha gasping for cold air, being rescued in the snow. She turned cold to survive. They all have these defenses, these "safe places" because of their childhoods. Also your imagery and sensory details made all their actions convincing. I felt like I was running through tall grass, trying to reach a high window, even sitting in a dark old lady house that smells like cats. I don't care at all about the comic books and how this may or may not fit with continuity and things like that in them, this is just good writing.

Oh my lord. I am sooooo sorry. I clicked on the wrong story. . Please forgive me! As penance I read your story, though. And I thought it was wonderful. :3
