Poor Sherlock though. Mycroft, too. Abuse is horrible and no child (or adult) deserves it. Good explanation for why Sherlock is the way he is. Because he is neither a sociopath nor a psychopath. It's kind of obvious he must've been abused and probably bullied severely, too. Or maybe he has some illness that makes it difficult from him to relate to other people like Aspergers. But I think it's more likely it's trauma, psychological trauma. He was hurt, severely enough that he decided to push anyone away, even though he secretly yearns for other's company, for someone to be there.

I really hope Mycroft and Sherlock can eventually find back to their close bond from before- or at least build one just as strong. Sherlock needs therapy. Not sure about Mycroft, but Sherlock certainly does. There could be other triggers hidden in his past. Also, keeping it buried will not make it better, instead it will fester and be all the stronger when it comes up again.

Wow...such a moving story...it was heartbreaking to see Sherlock's breakdown. You described very well his striggle with the memories, and the shock that overcame those around him.
However, to me it was even sadder to hear Mycroft's tale. John was so ready to lay the blame at Mycroft's feet, even accusing him of not caring...it was pretty clear at the end of the story that he understood that his attitude was, as he says to Sherlock, "not good".

I really like it ansd it di explain it a bit more, but i was hoping for more details and stuff into the abuse department . Is till like it and itnwa interesting to see somestuff from mycrofts piontnof view. I was just hoping for a bit more. I completely understand that tpyou wrent aware of that tho, since this was written quite some time ago.

This is literally the best thibg ive read in ages. 10/10 the bomb diggity domb, my friend. I love ot and i REALLY want some more back story for this, like more details about the abuse, ya know? I want it ALL.

What a sad look at Sherlock background. A little bit au now but I have felt for many years, back to reading acd's stories, that Sherlock must have been abused in some way as a child.
