I finished reading Shatter last night and it was like riding a roller coaster. Unlike Checkmate, adrenaline is activated from the first chapters, and that's why I couldn't stop reading

I don't know how to express how much I liked both stories, but I would like to congratulate you on your amazing way of putting yourself in the shoes of all the characters, defining their objectives and giving them credibility.

Nolan's Joker has always been fascinating to many in the fandom and you have handled it wonderfully: he is cruel, mocking, intelligent, chaotic and without compassion, because… unlike Jeannie, it was very clear to me that Jack had died the day she left.

And it's painful, because you felt how slowly Jeannie's hopes were breaking along with her heart, since Jack would never return. After all, the title makes sense: everything is broken, nothing can be repaired, causing the ending, even if it was bittersweet, to be adequate and satisfying.

I congratulate you again for creating both stories, you have incredible talent. Not many manage to get me to bite my nails with anxiety and immerse myself so easily in a writing. Nice job!

My god, that was such a cool fic to read. I read checkmate and shatter in two days and I felt like I really lived life with this characters. Thanks for writing it!

I wanted to say thank you for writing this story and completing it. The first Dark Knight story I ever read was Checkmate. I read it in two days last year and and then read Shattered right after. They continue to be my favorite stories and I've reread both of them at least twice. All the characters are so well written. I loved the way you wrote Jack, from Checkmate when he was young and had subtle traits of the Joker to when he became older and those traits became more prominent. Then in Shattered with the Joker, how his personality was true to how he was portrayed in the movie, with subtle hints of Jack still there. It was bittersweet to read the end, not just because it was the end, but also because there was no way things could ever go back to the way they were, and I don't think there could ever be a definite ending with the Joker. I have never left a review this long, but I just wanted to tell you how much I have loved this series and the characters. I know you said you don't plan on writing another story, but I hope one day you may, because i will be eagerly waiting. Thank you again for this wonderful story.

Thank you for writing this. I've been following this story since my freshman year of high school to now a college freshman. This story is actually the best of all joker stories out there. This story made me laugh, cry, you name it. This story really helped me get through the hardest, most awkward parts of my adolescence. I can't believe it's over...This series was what got me into Batman and I am so thankful that I discovered this amazing universe. Thank you for writing this story. I would have a loved a happy ending, but I know it is not possible and it's better this way. Only a few stories on this site have stuck with me and Checkmate and Shatter are definitely one of those (and of course the An Exquisite Pain trilogy). Your Joker is truly perfect, true to his character you are doing a fantastic job! It is so good that the Joker doesn't care about his children (it fits him, I don't see him behaving other than how your Joker is behaving).
I REALLY LOVED in this chapter the fact that Jeannie is planning to take her children to the care of her family...it's the best thing to do. I'm also really hoping for a sequel of "Shatter" with Jeannie and the Joker "living" together, I really want them to talk. I don't expect things to be all fluffly at all, just I will be better once the children are safe far away..that way Jeannie isn't going to be so afraid of their safety. I think the Joker still loves her deep down but he's acting like he should be, so you are doing everything right, thank you so much!
