wiseowl99 chapter 1 . 8/25/2017
I read this piece quite some time ago, but did not have an account on this site at the time, so I was not able to leave a review. Recently, I found myself thinking of this story and knew I had to come back and read it again. To this day, it is not only one of the best Hetalia oneshots I have ever read, but one of the best oneshots I have ever read, period. The brilliant narration, the portrayal of the characters, the exploration of isolation, companionship, and the many forms love can take seem to bring me back to this story. Absolutely beautiful work. I look forward to reading other masterpieces from you. I hope you have a wonderful day (or night).
Unbridled-Dolly chapter 1 . 8/23/2015
Oooooooh my god... I just... I can't even... just... oh my god. That was incredible. I don't think I've ever read such an amazing take on the interaction between Russia and Prussia during the Cold War years. That was simply magnificent. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for this marvelous piece.

Dragonfire78 chapter 1 . 8/12/2014
There are no words that I can find to express how I really feel after reading this. It was beautiful, sad, horrible, and heartwarming all mixed into one wonderful story! Russia may have called Prussia weak, but is he really? Throughout everything he had been through in that prison he never lost his mind, he still found a reason to live on and fought back every chance he got, if anything I find that is true strength! Amazing job!
Insanity under the moonlight chapter 1 . 6/6/2014
I'm never disappointed with your work, you gave me great headcannons about all three characters and the way you wrote this is amazing! The characterization was perfect and realistic the way you put in time skips was flawless, all the transitions are so smooth as well as the character development. You're a great writer so just look at all of your reviews, story favourites, likes, and reblogs on tumblr if anyone tells you or you feel otherwise.
Dreamcatcher38 chapter 1 . 5/29/2013
Nice to see Russia as something beside the source of all evil, and actually humanized.
DM-sama chapter 1 . 5/16/2013
OH LORD! OH MY GOD! THAT WAS- OH MY GOD, THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!

THIS, this story RIGHT HERE, deserves an honorable award for being ONE OF THE BEST FANFICS IN THE HETALIA ARCHIVE! SERIOUSLY! Right next to The Chosen End (which I can't read without a tissue box at the ready) and Auf Wiedersehen, Sweetheart (fucking beautiful).

Thank you for making this heart wrenching tale. Thank you for being a dedicated PruCan shipper. Thank you for creating all of these wonderful stories which I will promptly use to make my Hetalia friends see the glory that is PruCan. Thank you for being so awesome. ;_;
SkyGem chapter 1 . 4/17/2013
This was sad and sweet and angsty and adorable and heart-wrenching and I'm pretty sure a lot of those words I just used are pretty much synonyms (or close enough) but I don't care because I loved this so so so much and childish Ivan was absolutely adorable, and I kinda really feel sorry for him. I loved the ending though. I was literally squealing when Gil was finally allowed to leave, although I really did feel sorry for Ivan, especially in that last scene where Gil turns back to look at him and he's just waiting there alone. And whenever Ivan would say "I can't" in response to Gil asking him to be let out, for some reason, I kept getting the feeling that he really had no say in the matter...like he would let Gil go if he could. I'm probably over-thinking things, but that's how it seemed to me, which is probably why I don't hate Ivan more than I do right now. Hehe. Anyways, another beautiful fic, author-san! Keep being amazing!
i-Spit-on-Fire chapter 1 . 3/29/2013

donewiththissite chapter 1 . 2/3/2013
I really enjoyed this one. It's a different look at this couple. I don't really know what to say besides this is awesome. Keep it up.
Jules chapter 1 . 2/3/2013
This was a beautiful piece, tragic and dark, but it still managed to be hopeful.

I adored the way you portrayed Russia and Canada's relationship, and how you portrayed Prussia's thoughts, the static and all that...

Honestly breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. \3
omg-KITTENS chapter 1 . 1/1/2013
I'm not much of a writer, and not really the best at giving advice, so I'm just going to say how much I liked this. It was incredible! Definitely the best piece of work I've seen on this site in a long while. Bravo!
Goddess-of-Genius chapter 1 . 12/28/2012
This is possibly one of the most beautiful things I have ever read in my whole life. It was dark, yet somehow light; depressing, but joyful;
All in all, a mix of emotions.

I found myself crying during this, especially the parts about the chickadee. And Russia... I have never read a story that portrays Russia like you did. I loved this portrayal, though I wish he could've had a "happy ending".

Saying that I loved this story is a gross understatement. I can't find the right words to say my feeling for it, though all those words would be good. All I can say is that I am glad I read this story.

Kind Regards, GG
YeahYouWannaKnowMyName chapter 1 . 12/28/2012
I... I'm just... Wow. Amazing. I can't even-Wow. Um, this is good, by the way, haha. When I feel like this, it is good. This story was absolutely amazing. Honestly, I try to avoid Cold War stories because they are always so abusive, but this I would recommend to anyone. What really got me was the personality switches with Russia. I think I mentioned in a previous story about how I take care of a woman with multiple personalities. Would type more of a review, but I have to feed the small army down stairs. Keep writing :3
Phielia chapter 1 . 10/15/2012
My word. That was utterly beautiful.
I wish I hadn't read it so quickly so I could of savoured it a bit longer!
This is excellent, thank you for writing this.
