| TheSeaSpider chapter 4 . 4/27 MPD, or, more commonly called dissociative identity disorder (DID), is a result of specific trauma that causes a new personality to form, and is not a result of stress. The disorder often forms at a younger age, around the ages 7-12, though it is rare for it to form later in life. Your personality could be in your mind, though the host may not realize it, for years at a time. It is very likely that Percy would have realized it, due to the trauma he has faced in early life. He would have gained multiple "personalities" by this point, and would have realized it. Though you have only touched at the subject in this story, it is a very sensitive topic that must be deeply researched before attempting to diagnose or explain it. I believe what Percy is going through in this story is simply a deeply manifested form of PTSD. |
