You know, after the last chapter I couldn't imagine how this would have an ending that feels happy and upbeat, and yet somehow with this one short chapter you've managed to make their future feel so incredibly hopeful, upbeat, and overall bright despite the shit they're going to be dealing with for years to come. I am really amazed how you've managed to give such a dark and painful tale a happy ending that doesn't brush off all that they've endured but instead accepts it and all the pain without sinking from it. Thank you truly for sharing this wonderful story

So I'm reading this through for the third time and the one thing that sticks out in my mind in this chapter is Ducky assuming that mild starvation during their early years is the probable cause of the two's excessive eating habits even though he KNOWS other DF users. It would make more sense if he, considering he is a Doctor, offered more than the one possibility by adding that it could also be that their abilities consume large amounts of calories in order to function properly. Ace is literally made of fire and all fires need large quantities of fuel. Dunno about rubber but I imagine it might even take more since the human body is not in itself elastic, while it does naturally produce heat.
