Very sweet story!

I have been reading this story non stop, I had seen it before and not get motivated to read it because it is a story about Elros. In the canon, it bothered me that he choose a mortal life, as for all the characters that did that, because they leave behind their families and I feel very strongly that I would not do that, I think if I were an elf with the choice, would marry whomever I feel in love with and then accept their death, and keep on living as many widows have done in history for the sake of their families.
It strikes me the purity of your main characters. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable with that if I dare to compare myself with them. Yet they do endear themselves to me, because your couple is super cute together, and there are very sweet examples of family relationships.

Hi! I know you've finished this story a long time ago, but I must tell you, even if you don't read this reviews anymore, that I loved this story. It's so sweet and so sad also. It made me cry so much at the end, and also be so happy for them. Thanks for sharing this amazing story!

I have seriosuly cried reading every chapter since Firiel died (and quite a few times before that - anything to do with Elrond, really)! I devoured this fic within 2 days (took me one weekend!) and it was the best decision i've made in a while. I've often seen this fic in people's lists of favourites, but I must have been apprehensive of the subject because I did not dare to read it till now. That is because I knew the story would be immensely bittersweet, but I knew that I shouldn't let it slip by just because I knew I would cry my eyes out at some point ;) Anyhoo, I have reached the end, and I'm still in one piece. Loved this fic from beginning to end, thank you for writing it! I will now search for a fic about Elrond and Celebrian's meeting and falling in love. Wish me luck!

I'm glad to have read this. Not many stories do show how real and true love is actually like.
And I've seen it (though I haven't experienced it) to know that it's a mutual respect towards one another, and you're right, the love in many stories are unhealthy ones.

Wow ... about two years and I have finished this wonderful tale. I apologize it took me so long, yet I'm glad I found time here and there to read a chapter (or two!) because it brought me to such a happy conclusion. :)
Your writing throughout the story weaves in the nature of Tolkien and also your own talent and it is wonderful to read. I love Elros and Andreth, and all the characters you had made yourself - Talia, Hathel, Firiel ... they are all kind-hearted characters who aren't too perfect and with normal flaws and troubles that I may not always relate to, but I know others can. Your characterizations of the book characters - especially the brotherly love and close friendship of Elros and Elrond - Gaaldriel, Celeborn and Cirdan are very good and did well to enhance the story and make your OCs believable.

I love how this tale connects Elros' choice and fills in an unanswered gap. I love how Andreth didn't enforce Elros' choice but played a part in it nonetheless. I also enjoyed reading your essay at the end on true love and a healthy relationship.

This story was a delight to read; a heartwarming tale which I probably won't forget. Thank you so much for encouraging me to read it! :)

I loved this. I don't know why I never read this earlier, probably because I only recently got into the Silmarillion, but I love Elros and Andreth!

This chapter was beautiful. It really touched me, and it was never fell into sappy. I loved it.

Awwww, Hathel and Talia are the cutest things ever. I love that Andreth and Elros's horses hooked up, too. X3

I know it's taken me forever, but I'm nearing the end of this wonderful tale. :) Although, at this point it's all getting dark and rather intense! I hope dearly Maglor will be alright (haha, I have a rather soft spot for him ;), and these two villains you've cleverly crafted really make my skin crawl.
