I really liked how you explored John's military side. One that is often overlooked as he started a life being a civilian and criminal chaser.

Aww that was good, now we see a little more insight into your John's past. Looking forward to many possibilities coming out of this possibly in future fics! (Or at least ones I haven't read yet. Muha.)

I absolutely love the unspoken dialog at the end. It just makes me wonder what happened to those friendships after John came home. I know most of them stayed there from your other Afghanistan stories, but some day they'll come home, too, and then that just might - complicate - John's relationship with Sherlock.

Enjoyable snippets into John's past. Helps explain his present. There is much deeper stuff in him than most would suspect at first glance! Perhaps that's one of the things Sherlock admires in this dark and complex friend with a heart of gold.
