Reviews for Fish Sticks and Applesauce
Sagekitty chapter 1 . 1/3/2019
I just finished reading your story and love the true representation of Autistic Sam. I teach special needs students also. I have had much milder students to much more severe. Sam was a great representation of the mid range kiddos. Thanks fo making more people aware of this group of sweethearts.

Can you do an utistic Sam story called Popies and Daisies where he goes to the park fair? Like a holiday fair at a park with his dad.
SammyGirlForLife chapter 1 . 5/8/2017
Dean is an amazing older brother. Fish Sticks and Applesauce is a heartwarming autistic Sam story.
FioraThePendragon chapter 1 . 2/3/2017
My brother has autism and this tugged my heart strings. It was a pleasure to read.
Serpico1986 chapter 1 . 7/31/2016
Great story and excellent portrait of autism you have here. I mean, I don't know anyone with autism, but for what I see in movies, this story is exactly the same. Kind of realistic, so, congratulations.
I was trying to write something like that lately, but it wasn't that good. Can you give me some advice?
Anyway, Congratulations for your story and I hope to read more of you soon

PriWinchester chapter 1 . 12/8/2014
Hey been very long since the story but I was wondering if you do a sequel or another verse of this.I love it alot despite reading countless times. So yes. Thank writing.
Louey06 chapter 1 . 8/16/2014
This was absolutely wonderful. The way Sam depended so much on dean killed me. Poor John, i must be hard on him. of course he is the one who makes it so hard but still. This was great. Fabulous job

I love all your stories in general especially this one as I thought you caught the autism spectrum amazingly well. I have reread it so many times.
Meega-Nala-Kweesta chapter 1 . 6/17/2014
You are probably getting a lot of people reviewing saying that they identify with Sammy, cause they, too are autistic...guess what? You just got another one! My routines aren't as rigid as Sammy's, since I have Aspergers, so it is a little bit easier to deal with, but I have the number thing. Not a specific number, though, everything just has to be an even number, or I can get either aggressive or ill, sometimes both on a really bad day. And music plays an integral part of my daily routine, as it is pretty much the only way I can process the passing of time, which made growing up pretty hard for me... I never had someone like Dean, either, I wish I did...I wasn't even diagnosed until I was already a teenager (which is quite common in girls, apparently)...my parents, siblings, and teachers constantly told me I just needed to get over myself, and that I wasn't trying hard enough. I'm glad you wrote this story, it raises a bit of awareness for it :) It was really well written, too.

P.S. I bet you are getting sick of hearing from me by now :P

I babysit for an autistic neighbor of mine, and though I obviously don't care for him 24/7, I can relate to where this story comes from. Routines are everything, and you're trying to move mountains if you try to change them XD. But really, this story was so sweet and portrayed this topic beautifully and realistically. Awesome )

IamtheBlueJay: Thank you for writing such an amazing story!
Guest chapter 1 . 1/7/2014
I couldn't help but think of myself as I read it. Being autistic myself, I can completely understand what Sam's doing. Although, I'm not nearly as bad as he is. I do however freak out when my routine is disputed by someone other than myself. I also tend to get emotional easily because it's hard for me to differentiate between sarcasm and non-sarcasm. To make matters more complicated, I'm a teenage girl. It really does suck being autistic, but I have Asperger's, so it's a little easier for me to appear 'normal' and avoid the teasing. I just wish that I had older siblings that would be like Dean. I have three annoying younger ones -.-
