I prefer a tragic ending for Harry, given the way Rowling ran him into the ground over the last four books. (and continues to run him and his family into the ground)

Personally, I think she intended to kill him off before chickening out. I truly wish she had, rather retcon more of her neuroses into canon.

Nicely done vignette; I like it even if I disagree with some of your re-interpretations of DH, but that's quite alright - it's fanfiction! Kingsley always stood out as one of the few unimpeachable characters in the series and I'm glad you kept him in character.

I like it! Hopefully Harry recovers. Kingsley Shacklebolt is an interesting character, little used in fanfiction. I would love to see more of this, if you are thinking of continuing it.
