I really like how you've developed Shinichi's character in the story, incorporating his thief and detective persona together, while still keeping him true (as much as you can, all things considered) to his morals. I have to say, I enjoy how much Yusaku grates on Shinichi, even knowing that Shinichi thinks he was abandoned, their interactions are still funny. I wonder if Yusaku will confront Shinichi's detective persona about Night Baron? True, he doesn't have any proof, but there are a lot of habits that Shinichi has cultivated due to his thieving that bleed into his detective persona (how he keeps away from Yusaku, not leaving any evidence behind, etc).

Ooh! I wonder... has Hakuba told anyone at the station (Yusaku) that Kid and Baron are romantically involved? I'd love to see Yusaku's reaction considering his recent epiphany (and Nakamori's). Can you imagine after the Org was taken down and the two teamed up together against Hakuba, Yusaku, and the Taskforce, Nakamori would probably get an aneurysm as they both ran circles around him and were basically flirting the entire time! Hahaha!

I wonder how long it'll be until Kaito and Shinichi discover each other's involvement with the Organization? Whiskey told Shinichi that Snake led Kid to his house, but nothing more than that, so I have to wonder how much Shinichi thinks Kaito knows.

Will Shinichi ever meet Akai? He's definitely one of my favorite characters, so I can't help but wonder how they'd both react to meeting each other? Ooh! I wonder if you will use the anime's idea to fake Sherry's death on the train again or come up with something else?

Why doesn't Shinichi think of the possibility that his kidnappers lied to him about his family selling him? Why don't his parents bring up said possibility? Isn't he supposed to consider all the possibilities and not jump to conclusions? Shinichi seems to be ignoring the quote about suiting facts to theories and not theories to facts here.

I love this so far! I almost wish the kiss could have happened, but I can't help but want them both to kiss in their Thief personas.

I read this story a few years ago, and sad to find out it was incomplete. I’m glad to see it has been updated since the last time I read it. I remember really loving it and I believe this was one of the very first fics I read so it’s very nostalgic to me so I really hope you get the motivation to finish it one day!

I’ve been reading this all day, and I’ve finally caught up! This is such a cool au, and I really like Shinichi’s adoptive parents and his romance with Kaito. I worry so much reading the scenes where he’s with the organization, and I’m so curious about what Yuusaku will do now that he thinks Night Baron is Shinichi!

I'm ashamed to say I burned through this entire story in one day...well, only a little. But I couldn't help myself; it was just so good! It's hard to pick favorite parts, but I think mine are Shinichi's relationships with Yuusaku and Hakuba with Kaito closely after. I'm so looking forward to the reveal scenes! (ie: Hakuba learns Shin is Arthur, Yuusaku learns Shin is his son, Katio learns Shin is Org.) Yuusaku's realization was good because it's a mistake that wouldn't be obvious to Shinichi.
Great job in fleshing out the Organization, and I liked Shinichi's new parents too (normally I hate OCs). And I think Shinichi is acting in-character for the traumatic childhood he had.
It looks like the Org-takedown plot is soon approaching the climax. Keep with this great story! You started 5 years ago; don't let the motivation die yet! )

In this last chapter, I was confused because Shinichi and Kaito didn't exchange the ice cream line, so i thought it was a trap. Also, I'm guessing they didn't take their masks off yet? Also, does Shinichi's sister become involved? Does she know about Haibara's identity?

So~ Sinichi going meeting his inverse best buds of Detective of the West, Heiji, now? Since he's going to Osaka and all.
Well, one thing that made me laugh from reading the entire story was that no matter how twisted his path from the original one, lady luck still blessed him with weird parents. Satori and Avaron are like a conman duo version of Yuusaku and Yukiko (and I think Yukiko would be much more worse than Avaron if she took criminality as her main job instead of a young retired actress, she's a badass mom). And I like how Sinichi became Hakuba indirect best friend (that guy is super lonely without another Holmes fanboy) in this story, it's super cool, I hope they get to be friend again for the sake of Holmes fanboy-ish.
