I've just finished it now. Really like the story so I just favourite it right away. Seems like it's been a long time since you make FFVII fanfic. I hope you would write about this couple again. This story is so beautiful.

This is really my all time favorite final fantasy story. I've reread this story so many times because it's just so good. It's been a year and I'm still in love with the Rufus and Yuffie pairing you got here

I first read this story in 2013, if I'm not mistaken based on my previous review. Three years later and I'm reading it again. Note that this is at least my third time reading. I really am baffled on how considerably little reviews you have for this. Your writing and this story is simply too good and I am happy that you have decided to share it. I really do love the way you wrote Rufus. How he was in love with her all along and refused to tell her. Granted that he has his fair share of idiocy, but I really love the caring side of him. It truly makes me wish I have someone like that for me as well..

I have read this story twice, and I love it! You write so well, and have a way to make the text come to life. It doesnt hurt that I ship Yuffie/Rufus either. I do apologise that I never left a review before, I actually have read this story, and all your other Yuffie/Rufus stories, you write them so well! Please, more Ruffie!

I loved reading every single part of this story, well done on creating it, it's utterly amazing.
I used to be a hardcore Vincent & Yuffie fan, I adored them, she was like the light to his darkness but then I fell in love with Reno & Yuffie because I think they are both a like in the way they always try to be cheerful. But this, this couple is now my new addiction.
No one would ever think of these two as a couple, but when you think back to their families history, and I do honestly think that if there was no war and no Sephiroth, I think there could have been a marriage arrangment between the two heirs.
I cried when Yuffie lost her child and how hard Rufus tried to make her happy T_T

But, the ending was perfect. Would there perhaps be a sequel? I would love Rufus trying to change nappies and uncle-Reno babysitting xD

I'm so sorry that it's taken me this long to review. I wanted to reread the story before I did, and I finally had the chance to. But, yes, the rest of the chapters are just...You had me on such an emotional roller coaster with them. I really don’t even know where to begin! XD

Chapter Seven: Oh, it was such a decadent little chapter, filled to the brim with very naughty imagery, which I loved every moment of, by the way! It was such a guilty pleasure, seeing Yuffie and Rufus finally give in to each other after so much sexual tension. It was just such a beautiful moment, even with the dark foreshadowing of the morning after looming on the horizon.

Chapter Eight: And that's where my heart broke. The angst in this chapter was almost too much. I was nearly in tears, and that's really saying something, because I didn't expect to cry. My heart really went out to Rufus, especially when he told Yuffie that he didn't want to see her anymore over the phone. God. That was painful, and then with him slumping to the floor and getting absolutely smashed. And then there’s his admission to Tifa about his deal with Godo.

I honestly hadn't expected Godo would do something that would prevent Yuffie or her children from taking the throne upon his death. I seriously had to reread that part, because I was so shocked by it. Rufus' reasons for the deal to have Yuffie were also surprising, especially with his harboring a deep, abiding love for her, even when he thought he would never have her. I do believe his motivation in helping restore Wutai for nothing a sincere gesture, but his agreement to marry Yuffie, albeit a little selfish on his part, was probably for the best, since she would indeed still be nothing more than a bargaining chip for her father if Rufus didn't agree to marry her. She's really better off with someone like Rufus, who actually loves her. It's just a shame that he couldn’t be open and honest with her about it. She would've been mad about the deal, certainly, but would be more understanding, I think. I also believe it would've saved them from a world of heartache.

Chapter Nine: Vincent made such a grand entrance here. I also love him scolding Yuffie! That would be up Vincent's alley, I think! :D I also like his description. I couldn't believe that he finally cut his hair, and is no longer wearing his customary cloak and gauntlet. o.0 I confess I grinned like an idiot at the image of him polishing his gauntlet, simply for the pleasure in delivering a blow to Rufus' face for causing this mess in the first place. His threat to call Tifa was also amusing, although I do like his opting to call Tseng and the others instead. HIs message was short, brief, and to the point. Classic Vincent Valentine, there. (Grins.) I also like how you portrayed his friendship with Yuffie, and about how much he really cares about her and the happiness he knows she deserves. It's also sweet that he felt sorry for Rufus. Vincent can see the entire picture, while Yuffie and the others can only see a portion of it.

Rufus in this chapter was also heartbreaking to see. Yuffie leaving their home absolutely devastated him, and it's just heartbreaking to see how much her leaving affected him. And the phantom pains returned. Poor Rufus! And yet, I can appreciate how much he's changed over the course of this story. He's actually very much human, very tangible, and is thus very vulnerable in getting hurt, particularly by those he cares about. However, his knowledge of Yuffie waiting for him, and his need to get better was just so uplifting and hopeful.

Chapter Ten: And then my heart broke again. I had a bad feeling about those stairs, I really did. And yet, I hadn't expected what happened would actually happen. I was absolutely shocked, and then the aftermath...was so just terrible. Rufus and Yuffie both suffer from the loss of their child, and yet they're unable to comfort each other. It's just so sad, and at that point it looks like things aren't going to get any better for either of them.

Chapter Eleven: But then, there's a ray of hope. I'm so happy you mentioned Aerith, and how she helps Yuffie realize a few things. It would be something she would do to comfort one of her friends. I absolutely loved the joke about the whole mother thing and Aerith's response to it! That's also something she would do! (Laughs.) But regardless of that, I'm glad Yuffie's conversation with Aerith spurred her into doing something positive for a change. It was rather clever of Yuffie to send Rufus' work back to where it belongs, and her gift to him with the photos. They certainly do reach a very heartfelt understanding at that point.

Really, I love how the transition from all of the heartbreak and despair transforms into something that makes them stronger, when they're together facing their problems. It's just not solved in a single chapter or a paragraph, just as life isn't.

And I'm so glad you brought Yuri back in, even if he's merely mentioned in passing. Rufus getting jealous over one of Yuffie's guy friends is just so sweet. Really, what does he have to fear, since he already has Yuffie? (Grins.) I also enjoyed his correction about how long it's been since he was last intimate with someone and Yuffie's reaction to it. No wonder he so readily agreed to that particular detail in the contract he'd made with Godo. It was very touching about Rufus' reasons, though; it was touching to see how close he was to his mother, and how he regretted not saying good-bye to her.

The final image of the chapter is just so sweet with him and Yuffie telling each other stories in bed; I couldn't help but smile!

Chapter Twelve: Was just a splendid conclusion. I simply enjoyed Yuffie teasing Rufus over possibly being jealous over her wearing a bikini and guys looking, and also with him remarking that she can puke on the reporters. I also like how his birthday still remains a mystery. That's a rather neat idea about him aging officially at the beginning of each year. And I totally enjoyed that little lemony scene, by the way. Things seem to be returning to normal for Rufus and Yuffie in that particular department! (Grins.)

It was also fantastic how you tied one of Yuffie's earlier comments about her wearing something she would've chosen for her wedding here in this chapter, as well as her choice in wearing boots instead of high heels. Marrying Rufus again in Aerith's church is certainly something I can Yuffie wanting done, and how simple their wedding is, with just friends and family there. It's a very beautiful and touching image.

Really, though, I simply love this story, and I'm so glad you decided to write it and share it with us on this site. I can't say how much I've enjoyed reading it, and will certainly read it again. I love the romance, the drama, the humor, and especially with Reno’s reaction about Rufus/Yuffie’s “Night of intimacy.” His reaction is just so him! But, yes, it's been absolutely wonderful following this story. Thanks so much for writing it! I hope to see more of your works in the future!
