I stumbled upon this fic on accident but I’m glad that I found it. Jinora’s character is fantastically written, I love how you’ve expanded her personality and made it unique to her. Iroh’s perspective was interesting to read as well. I was a little worried at first how the age gap would be written, mostly because I think that age gaps can be handled horribly, but you’ve outdone my expectations. Both interactions between the two were very respectful, and I really appreciated how they liked each other’s qualities and not their ages. I’m incredibly jealous of your style of writing as well as the natural dialogue. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent with the internet. I know this story hasn’t been updated since 2013 but I hope that you’re doing well and creating your own path! Best wishes!

After rereading this oh so many years later, I’ve realized that Iroh, while sexy and beautifully written, is kind of a dick. He does and says so many things that are so heated and romantic, but then he’s like “aw I don’t like you like that sorry but oh wait, you’re super special to me.” And then the entire time he has someone else. Dick move.

But I love it. I just re-fell in love with the story but just w a different perspective. I’m older, had my heart broken a few times, so I really resonate w Jinora. This is really a one-in-the-kind story that just kind of stays with you.

It’s been 7 years since you’ve updated, and even though, it’s sad, a part of me thinks the reason why it’s stayed in my head so long is because of the unknown. The lingering “what if”s. I created multiple different endings to it. And so, here’s my favorite one (yes, I made a mini fanfic to your fanfic).

After Iroh leaves the island, Jinora has some much deserved, reflective me-time away from him. Although she misses him terribly, she reminds herself who she is, “Jinora of the Air Nomads, granddaughter to Avatar Aang.” And slowly but surely, she gets some seblance of her life before the trip. She actually grows from it and becomes a more, insightful, (and if possible) more independent. After a while, she comes to terms that he is not hers and never will be, and she moves on gradually.

Iroh on the other hand is not taking her absence well at all. He feels like a part of him is missing and despite himself, he knows that he made a mistake—not just how he ended things but how he treated Jinora.

But then one day, a picture of Jinora w an unknown man is plastered everywhere on the tabloids. Media outlets are reporting that they’re engaged, secret lovers, expecting their first child. Of course, little do they know, it’s just some random guy friend, but the whole world is shooketh.

Because we love payback and a jealous Iroh, he gets his heartbroken and realizes selfishly, that he didn’t want Jinora to move on. His earthbender gf notices this and breaks it off with him.

So angst, angst, angst. Anyway, in a moment of all things-dramatic, they reunite with Iroh confessing he made a mistake and that hes deeply in love w her, he asks her for forgiveness, and to give him another chance. And Jinora, in very Jinora fashion, rejects him.

Angst, angst, more angst. But then they come back together, now officially even on the heartbreak scale, and vow to love each other forever. And they get married and have super cute babies.

Lol, as you can see, I’ve thought about this for a while BUT as I said before, every time i read it, I always change it. :)

The best stories are the ones you think back on and revisit again and again. I don't know how many times I've come back to this one, but it's is something special. While I know it will probably never be finished, I'll always hold out a little bit of hope for it someday. Regardless, its amazing. You have real talent. Sustaining stories and drawing readers back is not something everyone has and you have it in spades. I'm terrible at reviewing and don't do it enough, but your writing is certainly worth it. Thanks for posting this while you did!

The most beautiful love stories are the unfinished ones. The ones that left the readers thinking, 'what if?', 'what could be?', and elses. The one that left us hanging on a rope, with sadness biting inside our guts as we read it through our lenses of experiences. To see the would-be lovers remain just friends.

So, as someone who has (ashamedly) left stories to rot myself, I understand moving on to a different fandom and/or losing your mus for a story.

That being said, how could you addict me to this story and pairing and leave me? This is like the only story with this pairing, which I didn't even know about until I found it, and now, nothing else!

I understand if you're done with this, but I want to let you know that I loved it and would love more. You wrote the angst and tension so beautifully, and now I would love that happy ending. And preferably a jealous and amorous Iroh...
