Me neither! I read spoilers beforehand *slaps myself* so I knew that he was on the A-team before I saw the actual episode, but actually seeing him in that black hoodie and seeing him do all those cutthroat things like running people over and the lying...it was so sad and so unlike the Toby that we have come to know and root for! I refuse to believe that he doesn't love Spencer-I hope that he was doing this to protect her and the other girls but I'm not sure anymore):

"Looking for this?" Spencer's face when she finds out...it's so heartbreaking and how she runs into her Mom's arms without hesitation...and then at his apartment when she's sobbing and begging him to tell her that there was more to the story...it was absolutely gut-wrenching to watch.

I loved your story and your take on why he chose to become A. He had a hundred reasons to join but I believe that they aren't as sinister as many would like to believe. I hope for Spencer's (and our sakes) that they can work it out, that they can have some kind of resolution.

okay.. sorry for reading/reviewing this so late.. buuuut.. oh my gosh. I think I'm in love. this story.. flawless. honestly SOOOOO flawless. if the whole "Toby-only-joined-recently-to-protect-Spencer" theory isn't correct, I'm 'gonna bet thiss one is. because well, TOBY LOVES SPENCER3 :) I seriously LOVE this one-shot & well.. oh em gee. haha, this brought me to tears (which I seem to be doing a lottttttt in the last two weeks, btw) & well, it's just amazing. youuu're the best. :)))

Oh my goodness gracious I am sitting on my bed sobbing from the FLAWLESSNESS of that and honestly - I would sell my organs if this could be real. The pain from Spoby is so hard to bear - and this just made it better. Excellent, outstanding work.

I'm not sure what to believe anymore. I want to know if Toby truly loves Spencer. I just don't want to believe that he faked it, or in some way like that. I want it to be real. Him being on the A team definitely astonished me. And I also wonder about his friendship with Emily? I really don't know what to think about all of it. Maybe he'll be redeemed in the end? I don't know.

This... is exactly what I'm hoping will happen.
Apparently Toby joined with horrible intentions, and yeah, I get that, he was lonely and stuff.
What I'm hoping is he's on the A team with bad intentions towards A, not the girls. I don't think producers ever said who Toby had bad intentions towards, they just said he had bad intentions.
Toby/Spoby scenes are just gonna make me feel so weird now that I know he's part of the A team. I'll always be flapping my arms and going "Urgh Toby!" While he's on.

I like your story. And I too am holding out on Toby being good in the end. I have to admit that I suspected him all along but was in denial because of how much I like the character. Truth be told that was they only logical reason to keep the character around, as his character was insignificant in the book series. PM me if you wanna exchange theories.

too bad your not writing for the show what you said about Toby in your AN is exactly how I feel , they took a character who was so honest and full of grace and empathy and crapped on it
