If you watch season 1 episode 12 (Captain Jack Harkness) Gwen wasn't second in command. Owen was. I know she acted like she was, she actually acted like she was Jack's superior a lot of the time.

Having read this several times now, I'm still so impressed by the way you took Jack's into to the Doctor and gave it such a cool back story! Brilliantly well done, and putting Gwen bloody Cooper in her place was just icing on the cake! Cannot wait to see what you do with the sequel!
