What a wonderful AU. feather dusters cracked me up.

James wil finally know what mates are really like. Lovely job.

Ahh, well that blew up in their faces. I guess that's what happens when each of them makes assumptions about what their holidays will be like. It's been interesting seeing them start to understand each other more and learn what needs to be said and what needs to be left alone. They're getting better at it. And their trip to the island was really wonderfully described.

I tell you, this fic is absolutely fantastic. One of the best I've read in any fandom, and so I thank you for that. *doffs cap at you in a low sweeping bow*

Wonderful chapter. I really liked how all of the events unfolded here between the case and visiting the forest and getting back on the job. The scene where Hobson accidentally makes quips about Hathaways feathers had me cracking up. And I hope that Lewis clears up his misunderstanding about Lewis' vacation soon...

I really loved how this chapter played out and they both learned what it means to be a friend. The pacing was very realistic and the conversation so in character that I could /hear/ it being delivered. If the show, for some reason, decided to make Hathaway's wings canon, I'm sure that this is exactly how it would play out.

Oh, wonderful explanation of how things worked once they'd both gotten away from the hospital. It's really too bad that Lewis' attempts at researching on his own in order to not bother Hathaway with questions made poor James even that more paranoid that the other shoe was going to drop. But it ended up working out okay.

Ugh, I feel so bad for little Hathaway, though! Reading that book all by himself at age six. :'(

Oh my word. This is so fantastic. You know how you're perusing the archives for good fics and run into a lot of decent ones that are pretty good and you go along enjoying them for a while but then you click on one that really stands out and is just EXCEPTIONAL and you get all excited because you know it's going to be incredible from start to finish? Well, that's where I'm at right now. The pacing, the dialogue, the characterization, the plot, the fact that you're able to make a wingfic so plausible, it's all so well done. Cannot wait to read more! :D

And the lines about the "feather dusters" were the best! Although I liked Robbie's exchange with the charity shop lady when he purchased the cloak for Hathaway. :3

This was absolutely and utterly brilliant, down to the last word. The whole premise is lovely and has grown on me over the course of the piece. Thank you so much for posting this absolutely beautiful interpretation! I will never look at LF's scoliosis in the same way ;).

I just realized that never got around to reviewing this absolutely brilliant story! I absolutely love the whole premise - I'll admit to being surprised by it at first, but, once I got reading...
Both James and Robbie are so incredibly in-character, as is Laura, and the story arc is so interesting. I hope you continue this soon!

I have to say, when you first mentioned Hathaway having wings, I thought this was going to be very strange, and not that good. I'm delighted to say that it's neither. Everyone seems in character too; that seems to be quite rare in most fandoms.
I like the occasional references to things like other programmes, or things like that. I particularly liked the Costa one. Last time I went in there I asked for a white coffee, forgetting that I wasn't in my local cafe, where they know what normal coffee is, and the barista looked at me as though I had two heads and said that she hadn't a clue what I was looking for!
Your spelling and grammar are great. Bad grammar gives me something between a headache and a migraine.
This is just brilliantly written story - you'd nearly have me believing that Hathaway's condition was real!

Another brilliant chapter :) I love the way that Robbie is able to tease James, even though he's still unsure about it. And the surprise on James' part is adorable. I laughed out loud at Lewis' warbler comment.

Poor Robbie though, he should know that James values his friendship.
