Avengers with an A-Team twist. Two of my favourite things. ;-)

To be honest, I was dubious about the Hawkeye/Darcy thing, but knowing your mad skills, I was so willing to give it a try. And happy I did! You've developed this AU version of them beautifully. Nailed the whole mix of timid yet confident that is just so damn adorable on Jeremy Renner. And you've kept the whole snarky element of Darcy but tossed the sort of frumpy look they gave her in Thor for the true sexiness of Kat Dennings.

Also, your Tony Stark is spot-on funny, sarcastic jerk yet lovable. I also liked the Thor/Jane romance in the background and that you brought Peggy Carter in (with the same bittersweet element as in the film, anyway, that they can't be together). Also love how you utilize characters from original canon (Val Fontaine) that the contemporary films left out (like with your Star Trek fics... so mad they wrote off Nurse Chapel in favour of bringing Carol Marcus in? What's that?!)

Anyway, thanks for this fun one! (It was a great distraction for my procrastinating self!)

Amazing! Great story-got sucked into the plot and interesting AU.
Is it too much to hope for a sequel that discloses what happened with the Council and Fury?

I have to tell you that this was one of the best reads of my life. I fell so in love with this version of them, and I'm heartbroken that the story had to end. I could have read the never-ending continuing adventures of the Avengers. Throughout the piece, I kept switching off to do other things, because I didn't want to get to the end. I know that this is a story I'm going to come back to again and again. You write with such charm and fill up the story with a warmth and it just called to me and wrapped me in fuzzy happiness.

I also wanted to commend your fabulous skills of building the atmosphere and setting of a small central Florida town. I'm a 7th generation Florida who lives in the same small central Florida town that my great-great grandmother lived in... and I get so annoyed when people tell me that 'Florida's not southern.' Maybe that's true about the coasts - but here in the middle, we're just as southern and down home as it gets. You captured that so perfectly in both the characters and the setting. I could feel the buzzing mosquitos, feel the humidity sitting on my skin and hear the splash of the gator as it rolled into the swamp. What a way you have with painting pictures in my head!

Thank you so much for sharing this... if you can't tell... I really, really, really loved it so much! I'm going to miss them.

This was so awesome.

Darcy Lewis is my favorite character, all the different Avengers movies are my favorite series, and The A-Team is my favorite movie. How did you manage that without even knowing me? Haha, this is a really great story, thanks for sharing it!

Best ending. :) This was a great idea, and I especially liked your portrayal of Clint throughout. Nicely done all around.
fire in my eyes chapter 1 . 12/6/2012
I normally don't read stories that switch the characters up this much but figured what the hell it's a combo of my three favorite movies so I will give it a try so glad I did one of the best written avengers crossovers I've read so far and it totally deserves a sequel think about it :)

It's official I may just love you, but I would love you more if you wrote more Darcy/Hawkeye (puppy dog eyes) This was a great story and I kinda want a sequel but really anymore Darcy/Hawkeye will do.

This was an amazing story. I was captivated. I would love to see more, especially how the Avengers clear their names. Two thumbs way up!

That was straight up amazeballs!

I knew from the minute you had these two characters first meet, that I was in for a really good story.. and you certainly didn't disappoint!

I found both of these characters where kinda pushed to the side in their respective movie verse roles and didn't really find myself connecting with either of them (other than totally wishing I had the mad bowing skills that Hawkeye had in The Avengers.) But you totally owned them, adding layers (and major awesomeness) to characters that could easily come off as one dimensional.

I especially enjoy the way you approached Clint. Like I said, I sorta pushed his character to the side when watching the Avengers, but what I did get from him was a very embittered, extremely closed off person, definitely someone that would sorta suck in a romantic type role. But you tweaked him enough to still keep him relatively familiar (well as familiar as he can be to someone who isn’t very invested in the comic world) without wandering into extreme Gary-sue territory. And I think his character benefited quite a bit from the personality traits you chose to give him (and the ones you didn't). I think I’m in lurve...

Darcy was great as well. She's quickly becoming my new favorite female lead in fanfic. And I especially loved the close relationship that she had with her grandmother. I'm sort of a sucker for wonderfully positive family dynamics... maybe cause mine is so dysfunctional. And the UST between Darcy and Clint was approached in such a way that I was both tearing my hair out for them to finally do something about it, and hoping that you dragged it out a little bit longer because it was so damn fun to read.

And I really like how you made use of the Avengers in this story and the camaraderie you gave them. Their group dynamic in the movie came off extremely strained, even after they were 'united'. But it felt like they were friends in this story, despite the hardships they had gone through, even family in some moments and I liked that.

All in all, what I'm trying to say is, it was an awesome story, one I can't find a single thing to complain about (not that I'm usually one to complain anyways)... other then that it ended! Thank you so much for writing it, and introducing me to yet another pairing to obsess over.. I thought the Steve/Darcy pairing was the shittles, but I'm thinking the Clint/Darcy may have just taken top spot.

Keep up the awesomeness!
