Well first of all this way an absolutely FANTASTIC story. Insta-favorite. I shall cherish it and read it over and over again.
Good god the CHARACTERS. I loved ALL of them. You NAILED Sniper and Spy, and I absolutely love everyone else. The visible accents, the slipping into appropriate languages, just made this so much more fun and engaging to read. I binge read it all.
THE AWKWARD FRIENDSHIP. THEM ADDRESSING EACH OTHER BY THEIR ACTUAL NAMES. I felt like crying. What a relationship.
Amazing job on the history as well, especially with such a delicate subject. I applaud you.
The humor had me CACKLING. You perfectly blended the ridiculous silliness of the actual game with genuine feelings and tenderness that had me reeling over the fact that yes, you had made me far too emotionally invested in characters from a game of nonsense.
AND YOU BLENDED GAME MECHANICS WITH REAL LIFE SO WELL. I aspire to do the same.
And the REFERENCES. Spy picking up the Portal gun, the Aperture Science and Black Mesa mentions, Medic's "he's only mostly dead" Princess Bride gag, THATS NOT A KNIFE THIS IS A KNIFE FROM GOOD OLD CROCODILE DUNDEE, and I'm fairly certain those "jolly jokers" at Stalag 13 would make Hogan's Heroes proud. IM IN LOVE.

Aaahhh! My goodness I absolutely loved this fic from beginning to end! I feel like everything that needs to be said already has been, so I will be short. This was just so AMAZING and FANTASTIC for the building relationship of Sniper and Spy! I am a little surprised at the fact that it was so Sniper and Spy-centric whereas the prequel was all about the team and the relationship with Scout. That is by no means a bad thing though! Just love your work and can't wait to start the next sequel!

I'm a history buff too, and pretty much majoring in it when I get to uni.

It's OK. I love TF2's alternate history. So much that I made up some headcanons.

Like how Kong King is a calm city aside from the ongoing gang wars that ravage the streets at night, or how James Bond really does exist, but is banned from interacting with the French Secret Service ever again or how the Soldier made poor Captain America vomit in the middle of D-Day.
