This story brought me to tears. Ric and Damon's friendship was one of my favorite aspects of the show, and it killed me when Ric died and Damon was left alone to mourn in his own, lonely way. You wrote him beautifully, thank you.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I just wanted to tell you how much I loved this little story. Damon & Alaric are/were my favorite characters on tvd & I was suitably traumatized when Ric died. I've read most of your stories & I've loved them all, but when it's hard to read something because you're crying so hard, you know the story has went above & beyond. :) love your stuff & I am totally behind you wanting to branch out & write other things. But it will be a major loss for us fanfic readers if you stop writing it all together. You're one of the best. :)

This was so lovely. Just aching and sad and beautiful. I have been unable to avoid picturing Alaric at the Gilbert house, and in the boarding house, every episode, just watching and unable to get in the fray, and this really expressed that so beautifully.
