Don't know if anyone will be reading this so long after the piece was published. I was up all night reading. The author mentioned she was in a rush. What I had expected to happen in the end was that Dominic would kill Jane just as Maura died and somehow they would be together forever.

I really don't understand this chapter at all or the point of the meeting in Cavanaugh's office with Pike. Also, the remark about Maura leaving Boston PD is also wrong because she doesn't work for Boston PD. She is the chief medical examiner of the commonwealth and her employer is actually the Governor of the state and not anyone at Boston PD especially Cavanaugh so she doesn't need to inform him, Pike or anyone else in the department about her illness or any medical leave she might take or need. I believe that people are confused about Maura and her professional relationship with the staff at Boston Police Department because in the TV show they have Maura and Jane working in the same building but this is actually wrong. I researched this and Boston Police Department Homicide Unit and the Office of the Chief Medical examiner are actually two different buildings several streets apart. I think they did this on the show though in order to create the working and eventual personal friendship between the ladies and I also think its the reason that a lot of writers seem to believe that Sean Cavanaugh or whoever might be running Homicide is actually Maura's boss as well.

not sure how i feel about the epilogue and the twist at the end. I was loving the maura and jane split only to get back together only to find that maura has cancer. I liked the part of crowe been a dick and had hoped you would have jane right hook him. I loved the last chapter before the epilogue where Maura was saying her goodbyes.

I was gearing myself up for the loss of Maura but then you pull a rabbit out of seemingly no where and given them the happy ending, no explanation of Jane getting therapy or Maura choosing the op. Hell you go from sometimes you the ones you love aren't always gonna be there with you to happy ending oh wait the last 10 chapters didn't happen.

The kidnapping and trauma of Jane felt almost like you'd read another story and wanted to force it in to yours. It kinda of works but kinda also feels over the top.

I'm not sure which like the more the happy ending after a few more chapters to expand or the bitter sweet i'll love you Jane and will always love remember that and if there is an afterlife i will see you again my love type ending.

overall i'd says i loved 90% of the story liked 9.5% and though .5% was meh

Jane is being an ass. Come on, fighting or not, when does Dr. Isles sleep at work?

I wondered why Maura refused the surgery... Yeah she risked to die but she would die either way, tumors never disappeared from themself.
And yeah that way she could have more time with Jane, but isn't it more cruel? To let her suffer to see her, dying more and more each day, and simply waiting, not fighting and taking the risk of the surgery.
So I guess Maura finally choose to do it, she should have before.
Well, I feel somewhat like the end is "empty" because you let it open, but it's nice of you to let us interpret it as we see or want it.
It made me sad even if it was beautiful. Thanks
