And I also really like how you bring up the neural link in your stories. You basically do everything the writers of the show *should* have done for Chakotay and Seven's romance, but neglected to.

I love this one so far. Largely because it's sort of a "F**k you" to the stupid way Christie Golden broke Chak and Seven up in "Homecomming," with the excuse of "we're not on Voyager anymore, so all recently formed relationships are null and void, by excuse of identity crisis!" (Barf.) It was touching then, to read your line about Chakotay wanting to reassure Seven that being on Earth didn't change anything.

And second, I love your description of future NYC! The idea of Times Square and the ball dropping ceremony turning into a centuries-old tradition is very cool, and believable! I'm honestly starting to wonder if it'll last that long...pretty cool if it did!

Well, on to the next chapter.

This story is just achingly beautiful, it has an almost fairytale like quality to it. I first read this years ago, and have remembered it ever since. I am so happy to have rediscovered it, reading it again brought back all the magic of Chakotay and Seven. I've been reading fanfic for over 20 years and this is one of my favorite stories of all time. I wish there was more C/7 like this, you seem to understand the characters so well.

Very, very well written. I see this story as part of the 8th season of the show, and a highly credible progression of an abruptly introduced romance. I loved the imagery of the 24th century New York City in winter, and the romanticism of such imagery. I also loved how Seven and Chakotay have such chemistry, and how very much alike they are. The dialogue was as real as real could be. And thanks for finally touching on how they were neurally linked! I was hoping that would come into play in the show, but they just ended the show.

I've just finished reading this story for the second time, and I'm still amazed at it's stunning beauty and clarity, and the incredible depth to the characterization of Chakotay and Seven and their relationship. This is not only one of the best (maybe the best) fanfics I've ever read, it's one of my favorite stories, period. I love this one. Thanks so very much for writing it and sharing it with us!

I actually read this fic months ago but I just had to read it again. Of all the C/7 fics I've read, you write some of the best! The way you used words to describe every nuance in the story was such that you made it so intimate! Please write some more, maybe a continuation of this fic? Perhaps something that explores what happened between their return to Earth and the events of "Endgame"? _
