This story is great, along with Innocence Lost! Hope you decide to work on it again at some point!

So next update is when they announce Elder Scrolls VII? Interesting choice of schedule.

Wow, I binge-read Innocence Lost and this. I have to say this has got to be one of the best fan-fiction series I've ever read. It is in many ways a coming of age tale of a minor character in Skyrim's lore, satisfyingly expanding on what in the game was an unsatisfying and unfinished story.

I also applaud you on the restraint you showed with the characters. For example, Aventus does not suddenly fall into a storybook romance. Instead, he awkwardly stumbles through the very concept of romance; showing nuanced and conflicted emotion and introspection, and, at times, inadvertently hurting those close to him. Many stories on this site are simple and, often, badly executed, forced romances. I'm glad this story isn't one of those. I'm also glad you didn't make Aventus, some Mary Sue. He is a 14 year old boy after all, not a superhero.

In sort, the concept is interesting, the story is compelling and the execution is flawless. Then again, I expect no less from a professional writer. Thank you, I sincerely hope you continue to update this story (and more often), at least to a satisfying conclusion. It would be unfortunate to see this story become indefinitely incomplete.

I've been checking on this story, waiting for it to be updated for 2 years now, I guess at this point it's safe to say it's not going to happen :'( I hope the guy who was writing it is okay, since it was quite an abrupt end...

Well, this series is pretty darn good! I've enjoyed reading it quite a lot, the relationships between your characters are well written and the . . . shall we say, situations, you get Aventus into are rather amusing.

The way you've brought him seamlessly into the world of the Dark Brotherhood and the fact that he has less-than seamlessly come back into 'normal' life shows a level of understanding that you have but few people recognize - the Dark Brotherhood aren't the good guys, and being with them can screw people up. That said, I do hope you don't break Aventus away from them, that would be horrendously sad, so please, don't make him become the Mask.

Excellent chapter! I look forward to seeing more of this between Dagny, Jordis, and Aventus. Sorry for the delayed response however, been busy with so much work I barely have time for the things I enjoy.
