Wonderful, I love it that she does not take the job and would rather be with him in other ways. Also loving the parts with Leo appearing to them after he died.

Just a quick point on this bit from chapter 7 "Because that's what you've got to do in this game; you've got to be a team player, you've got to be able to roll with the punches and get up and keep going and not think about the bruises or the mud on your face. Because you're not doing it for yourself,": I forgot to write it in my original review for chapter 7, but the instant I read that bit, I realised it explained basically two years of my life when my job performance (the one year I still had one job and the other one, a couple of years later, a brand new) was not in the best place it apparently could have been and my bosses let me know it in the worst way.

"So you can order a salad and leave some and your date won't think you eat too much." "Josh! I was supposed to be going to a business lunch. It's important that I make a good impression." "On three women from the D.A.R." "They'd all be doing it too." For a moment she sees a flash of his dimples, but then, inexplicably, he stops smiling and buries his head in his menu again." - Hehehe. I am such a total and utter pig that I NEVER leave anything on my plate if I am eating out and the food is really yummy.
"I didn't go into that first campaign thinking, what job will I get at the end of this, how will I be treated, what will this do for my career? I've never gone into any campaign like that. If that's what I'd cared about, I'd have stayed with Hoynes; he was the front-runner, the guy with the money, the obvious choice." - EW! at even just the thought of John Hoynes.

I'll never forget the thrill; Sam and I went out for drinks that night on the strength of it and got thoroughly plastered." - Those sounds like fun, both their reaction to young Josh's suggestion and the getting plastered with Sam bit.

"That's not too far off the truth, is it?" Mandy is laughing now. "Yeah. God help us when he's Chief of Staff." - If Josh is averse to hitting women, I hereby volunteer to pop into this fic and do it in utter anger on his behalf after reading this interchange between what I assume is Mandy and Lou.

"then burrows her feet into the pillows in the corner and rubs them against the armrest, trying to warm them" - For the warming her feet bit: That is why one needs to always have a spare throw over the back or even the front of one's couch. OK, the knitted afghan I just read about (especially if Donna's gran and her knitted it together. My gran taught me to crochet, but we never got to the collaborating on projects stage) works too.
