What an excellent short story. I really like this retelling of Korra's start to life and her troubles as a female in a 1920's Esque society. All in all, there were a couple of typos, and I feel like it could've been longer with more added details, but as for what it is, it wasn't lacking enough to call it 'bad' by any sense. There was at least enough information to draw conclusions, and that's really all people need.

Is there any particular reason you made her story more of a 'regular struggles/slice of life' one instead of including Amon? Is there going to be a sequel or a continuation?

If you accept the AU characteristic of girls being held back, then this makes perfect sense. And I love how Korra was able to fight her way through. And the Makorra was so cute! *squeal* The Kor vs Korra was hilarious, especially before Mako knew, and I loved your 'wise Bolin'.

This story was amazing! I love this version of the world where girls aren't equal and Korra manages to triumph and prove everything wrong. You wrote her and Mako's relationship so wonderfully, and you did a great job. Kudos to you!
