This is delightful :o) I love how you take Holmes' apparently innocuous lack of interest for classic literature and make it a potentially dangerous situation - with Watson figuring the danger Holmes did not because he had the clues and read them well. And the ending, with Holmes' unspoken but sincere apology, is perfect.

I do think that Holmes will be quite fascinated by "Othello" and the way Iago's evil manipulations work, though. Now there was a criminal - so good that he got *other people* to commit murder!

This fic is good. This feels like something from canon first of all. It also acknowledges Holmes' limit when it come to not learning about stuff like Shakespeare. I loved how Watson had saved the day because he figured out what the guy was talking about.

I enjoy it very much.
