Only thing is, Ungoliant is a legendary spider from Tolkien's 'Silmarillion', so I think the name is a bit too well known - when Thorin yelled the name, I thought he was using it as a curse or exclamation of shock/fear... Maybe you could name it after some other monster - also, Ungoliant is elven for 'ancient spider', and I don't think Thorin would use Elven. The Dwarves always seem to have their own names for things, anyhow. But using Ungoliant is still better than making up an un-Tolkienish name! :) RandomCelt |
