Wonderful! I do so love a happy ending! I was terrified for a moment when Arthur said he was replacing Merlin as his servant...but then everything was well again! I very much enjoyed this incredibly masterful retelling of the Merlin finale. I wish the showrunners had consulted you!

And you write Merlin stories! I wonder if the dratted glitch that refuses to display my reviews has also been preventing me from finding your stories until now.
What can I say except that this is amazing! It read very much like a grandly written old myth, which brought back wonderful feelings of nostalgia from when I used to read Arthurian legends with my mum.
I withhold judgement on the happiness of this story until chapter two (I learn from the past), but so far I can most assuredly say I am glad Arthur is alive and I very much hope he doesn't react too poorly to the revelation of Merlin's magic.

Yay to a happy ending! I like seeing older Merlin tell his tale to his children.

Yay Merlin! The happy ending I needed. Feel free to write another Merlin fic ... or two ... as you said. Though I do understand having unfinished fics...I'm guilty of that...but sometimes my LONG ones, the inspiration goes Poof and that's that. Great job.
