Really a great chapter though, you have a way about making things interesting. The mission on Theros is pretty lackluster in my opinion, but you’ve added elements the game simply didn’t have and made it that much more interesting. Your general story flow is beautiful and keeps me engaged from beginning to end! Now if only there was a way to make you write for us MORE.
Seriously though, you’ve stuck with this story for a long time and I’m terribly grateful you have.

Since he’s a Vet that served in the Stan, will be help Shep come up with some... intriguing ideas for dealing with some of their future obstacles? For example, having security mechs with C4 (or whatever the equivalent) to them and charge into enemy positions?

Ah, you are still very much on top of your writing skills. I can only envy how well you show us all the little aspects that make up a scene without bogging down the narrative and dragging things out. I also still love how you portray the characters so well, they act how I would imagine them too if they where real people. (In addition finally someone made a realistic stanced jab at Shepard taking everything even slightly valuable she can find with her).

Keep up the amazing writing! I see more and more stories dying out and I’m scared as hell this one will too some days, but you’ve kept on showing back up with another chapter for us every so often. So Thank You!

It’s the little details that make this chapter come alive this chapter. From desiring different clothes to missing the heft of an old weapon, this helps give weight to Nick’s experiences. Specifically the focus on small discomforts feels grounding and human. Additionally the little hardships and failure that they run into illustrate that everything isn’t just all sunshine for the protagonists. I like it, and love where the story is going!
