I love this. I love how well you understand these characters and what you do with them in this version of events. Ginny's fierceness and devotion, her dreams and faith; Harry's letters sent only to her. It feels genuine and that wonderful mix of pain and love and beauty that makes a good story fantastic. I liked your descriptions of everything, just made it seem that much more intense, imo. I thought his "letter birds" was a neat idea, and an ingenious way to keep them for just the intended recipient! :) I loved this line: 'They were words for when they'd built their homes in each other...' (Really, I love the idea of 'building their homes in each other' - sooooo romantic!) :) Very nice!

I don't actually know the history of these two characters, as I only made it about half-way through the HP story, but reading this, I didn't feel like I needed to. It still made sense, and I feel like I got it-still connected. So, good job! I think that speaks volumes of your writing.

But this - this is beautiful. This is devotion and faith and waiting and those are things I can understand. It's like the penny is dropping and you have made it begin to click for me. I think.

Love it. I guess it's not the most believable story, but I just say that because I know Harry would never really leave - he'd keep fighting, 'cause, well, he's Harry, he never stops fighting. But he came back in the end, so that's alright, and this is still brilliant.
