Delightful!

This is like the gold standard for Chloe/Lex interaction - just perfect! I read this years ago, elsewhere, and rediscovering it again now I realize what an influence you must've had on me and the way I imagine Chlex interaction in my head. (Btw, I was honestly startled to note your Snow White reference in the beginning, which you didn't actually connect to Smallville's characters, like I did in my own pathetic imaginings, but I'm still sheepish! Another unconscious influence I suppose...*blush*) You're so great at writing Chloe's point of view. I love your writing style, your humor, and you've skillfully embedded some darker moments here too - very true to the Lex of the show. But you also illustrate beautifully why Lex needs someone like Chloe in his life who can help him lighten up a bit... someone to surprise and stimulate him, who can actually recognize his quotes and metaphors and match him in a battle of wits...and stubbornly refuse to back down.

I'll try to keep this review short and not list a million highlights, but one of my favorite moments: "I like you better like this." "Beaten and irritated?" "Not trying so hard to be friendly." It's funny but I also find it incredibly moving. Like a heart-stopping moment of truth. She SEES him... is capable of accepting the real him... if only he could come to accept *being* seen so clearly and understood so well. Which he resists... because he can't get past his childhood/upbringing? To protect himself *and* her from his so-called dark side? The way I just described it kinda sounds cheesy and romance-novel-y, but the way you wrote it was subtle and *not* saccharine - I'm just an over-excited shipper...don't mind me. ;) Your Chloe's starting to crack through Lex's defenses though and it's awesome. :) Oh, how I love the way you had her refuse to be intimidated by him near the end. And the very end is perfection too. Thank you for making me smile and making me think, with your extremely well-written, insightful slice of Chlex-life that should've been!

Oh god, this was perfect. If only (if only- fangirl moan) such interactions grew and because something later on in the series. Ah well, I’ll always have your Apple Juice. The snark was A and just plan cute. I want more, but sadly I know I wont get it. Hopefully someday you’ll come back and fulfill my dreams of a Clex-y epicness but until then:

Loved the interaction between the characters. Nice lightness of touch, shaded with Lex's darkness. What I appreciated the most was that you never lost sight of who the characters are. And the coda is love.

Oh I love this. It's so happy and light, a nice break from the doom and gloom that smallville has become.

I adore your Lex, and his slightly stiff discomfort at mingling with the burgeoise. And Chloe is wonderul and snarky.

I remember reading this on another archive some time back, so it was a nice surprise to find it here as well. I like both your Chloe and your Lex, and the whole thing is pleasingly and appropriately light, quirky and amusing – with an edge that catches the reader by surprise, but is even more appropriate to the characters concerned.

Oh yes, and: "When I was seven at a LuthorCorp picnic your father purposely stepped on my toes. Dad maintains that it was an accident but I don't think so." Now that sounds disturbingly believable…

This is SO funny! I love Lex's confrontation with the bottle. Adorable!

Also, this has some real emotional undertones-very believable Lex and Chloe. Yay!
