This. Oh this. There is not enough Court of Owls fiction out there, but this an amazing example of them all. This is an awesome what-if scenario with spot on characterization of nor just Dock. Even William - crazy and fanatical as he is - is growing on me.

I love it, love it! is great, I can't really believe that Dick killed a kid, but if he wants to impress his grandfather, then I'm sure he would do anything.
I hope Jason can talk with Bruce and then he finally decide to adopt Jason. Hahahah Alfred was very funny when he said "adopt a few" reminded me that image of Bruce in a supermarket buying Robins, LOL I'm sure if Batman take all orphaned children there is at Gotham, he would have the largest army of all!
I can not wait to see what will happen when Dick meets Batman! Dick is confused so Bruce easily can change his mind because how Bruce said, he understand what it's like to lose your parents.

I really liked this chapter, especially the clash of Dick's feelings after killing his "aunt", while wondering if what he did would make his parents hated him. It grieves me that Dick followed the orders and feel satisfied that he killed the man, I'm not saying that it's easy to get out of that circle, so hopefully when Batman and Dick meet, Batman can switch Dick.
Speaking of Batman, I wonder if when Dick meet Batman he'd have his robin ... well, not Robin, of course, but with her partner.

Wow I just fell in love with this from the first chapter! It's really good and I love the idea of Dick being a talon :)

This story is perfect. I can't seem to say anything about it other then that. I've read allot of stories where Dick becomes a Talon but yours is the best. I love the emotion, the slow build up to Dick's first murder, the helplessness of the situation, just everything. I hope you get around to updating soon, because this is just...perfect.

Wow! Great chapter. I really liked the little part with Batman meeting Jason Todd, who I'm assuming will become the first Robin. Will this change his fate? I've been trying to find a story where Dick did become a Talon but the few I could find were either poorly written or uninteresting, so this story was like a gift in a way. Just a question- will Dick ever give in to being a Talon or will he ever have a chance for redemption? In one of his inner monologues he mentioned that he just wanted to have freedom, at what ever cost, but doesn't the Court have precautions to this? I know they have a way of controlling their Taalons, as well as bringing them back from the dead, but will he actually be able to get away? Another thing that surprises me is that after six years with the Court, he hasn't broken. Seems a little lax on the Court's part, in my opinion. Anyway, great chapter and please update soon!
