Reviews for Canticle of Fire
mille libri chapter 4 . 2/4/2015
Beautifully done! Such a lovely idea, that she will go back and live while he waits in the shadows, forever vigilant. This was really such a unique and interesting story, different from anything I've read before - I enjoyed it a great deal.
mille libri chapter 3 . 2/1/2015
Her growing understanding and the resignation and peace that underlie it together are really beautifully done here, as is the gentle, slow movement towards openness that she creates within Duncan's spirit.
mille libri chapter 2 . 1/31/2015
Fascinating view of the Fade in this chapter. Her torment and her sense of being lost and alone are so vivid, as is her search for something in the world she can understand and cling to.
mille libri chapter 1 . 1/30/2015
I like the slow, gentle, patient beginning of molding a Warden Duncan is doing here, the gradual way he is inching her out of her grief and into her future. Beautifully done.
ElyssaCousland chapter 4 . 10/15/2014
This is seriously depressing! Awesome, but depressing. Now I'm sad. Thanks for that :p

A stunning end to a beautiful tale. Wonderfully woven and I loved the use of the dreaming and reality. Thank you for sharing!
olivegbg chapter 4 . 2/15/2013
Beautiful, from beginning to end. Thank you for this story.
olivegbg chapter 1 . 2/15/2013
This Duncan/Cousland is so true in nature, I simply love it.

This line: "You'll give your life away so that other girls can live safely with their families," Duncan says finally, his voice quiet. "Just as I gave mine so that someone else might be a husband and a father."

Perfect!
Ygrain33 chapter 4 . 2/15/2013
It's quite amazing, to see a Cousland who would have put the revenge aside for duty (my certainly wouldn't), you have created such a strong and compelling character. And, her dreaming in between life and death is so bittersweet... I never imagined that a romance with a dead character could be so well fleshed out. A truly awesome read.
Ygrain33 chapter 3 . 2/13/2013
Oh... and now the story has griffons...
Other than that, I'd have to be repetitive; her final acceptance of her duty carries so much strength.
SnowHelm chapter 3 . 2/13/2013
Beautiful and so sad. Thank you for sharing!
SnowHelm chapter 2 . 2/13/2013
Wow, I love this. You have a beautiful way of writing.
Ygrain33 chapter 2 . 2/13/2013
A wonderful take on the Fade sequence - both with giving grounds for Duncan to appear to Human Noble as well as elaborating on the importance of the scene and the following encounters. And that brief encounter of Ostagar... you conveyed so much with so few words, you really have a skill for that. Thanks for this reading experience.
