Guest chapter 5 . 12/5/2019
A wonderful story where I hope itachi gets to see some happiness in the end. I know it's been years but I hope you decide to keep writing, and thank you!
palmtreehead chapter 3 . 10/4/2019
I like that you’re showing Sakura’s fatigue, and the fact she realises she would have diagnosed the condition for anyone else but feels worthless cos she thinks she should be able to cope. I can totally identify, and I agree it’s important to understand that everyone has different weaknesses and strengths and that’s ok.
You’re also doing a good job of making me feel more empathy towards Sasuke and I’m quite curious about your OCs. Thanks for sharing!
palmtreehead chapter 2 . 10/4/2019
Awesome chapter. I really enjoyed the different points of view, especially Sakura being mature enough to understand Itachi’s instinctive reactions. Thanks for sharing
palmtreehead chapter 1 . 10/4/2019
The scene of Naruto apologising on behalf of the village is great because Itachi appreciates all it implies. Thanks for sharing
Arlie Ash chapter 5 . 9/29/2019

Daastan Go chapter 5 . 8/18/2019
"I've come more and more to blame Kishi's ineptitude for the fact that Sasuke really could have been a monumentally tragic character and instead he's just an asshole and not a sympathetic one either."

Is that your ill-informed, static, self-serving opinion or some sort of objective fact? I don't know, because what you’ve stated is inherently incorrect in the light of various forms of “Tragedy”. Nothing you've written is even half-decent by comparison to the source material; if I'd stated that, it would've been really fucking absurd. It's actually fairly silly that you've got such a high opinion of your writing where sentences run along in a familiar manner and there's nothing worth noting in the domains of morality, kinship, wars, etc., or even prose. You've painted Itachi as this "good God, let's all weep for this so pretty, much tragic boy!" character when it's so ludicrous. It’s a sappy content, choking on “angst-y Itachi’s sensibilities” too highbrow for us all, written by a weepy Itachi fan-girl and it’s transparent as fuck and you don’t even possess a shred of self-awareness! It’s like asking a butt-naked dude running down the busy road at noon that why’s he screaming that he’s wearing a red underwear and can't locate the stick that was stuck deep inside his arsehole!

How dare the Uchiha decide to strike back at the village that oppressed them (by pushing them out of the village before a crime was even committed; it isn't as if population movement, systematic segregation, and political isolation are war-crimes, or anything like that)? How dare the men, women, and children (yes, Itachi tortured and killed children) die on Itachi's sword and caused him trauma, or something? How dare did Sasuke weep and grow angry and resentful at the sight of his clan's genocide and the subsequent torture Itachi put him through for 48 hours (in Tsukuyomi, one second equals three days; so how many years do 48 hours equal? Let's hope your mathematics is more flattering than your reasoning and sparse attempts at prose)! And he didn't even stop there! The "tragic-est" character came back and put Sasuke, who was a 13-year-old child at that point, in "years" worth of mental torture again that sent him into a coma that only Tsunade healed. He nearly died! Should I go on? (Dude comes across as one of the thugs appointed by Zacapa the Butcher, but he's really Tragic, yo!)

How is any of this not tragic? Are you under the impression that being witness to the butchering of your family and your entire race and years worth of torture at your brother's hand are small, insignificant matters? We're talking about a child (a direct victim of a government-backed genocide) put through hell here, by his own brother no less. What is even your definition of tragedy? Classic? Renaissance? Romantic? Victorian? Modern? Post-Modern? A guy that plays nice with your pink-haired stand-in? Which definition do you follow? I can't wait to hear it, because in mere five chapters, your attempts at butchering the complexities of his character are fucking laughable!

It's hilarious that you've coloured your material with excess Eisegesis that has rendered it utterly parodical; I can't even read this anymore without envisioning you bellowing, "I can write this so very much better than that dumb dumb Kishi! Ha-Ha—Ha-Ha"! Your version of "Tragedy" isn't the correct version. Your attempt at offering "interpretive" ideas of Tragedy are nothing more than confirmation bias when Sasuke (along with Nagato) is the only character in the manga that fits that bill. Let's not even touch this whole "redemption" fad that's lodged itself deeply into the anus of story-telling. Why are you people so enamoured by Christian ethos whilst being "much woke" simultaneously? It's . . . mind-blowing! Kindly, pull your head out of Christianity's anus.

Nothing you've written is anywhere near the layers offered by Kishimoto's writing. (Sure, Kishimoto dropped the ball when it comes to Itachi's philosophies, but I'm guessing that it's the translation's fault.) It's fairly dull, uninspiring, and poor in regard to the tasks you've under-taken. Kishimoto's philosophy is rooted in "Japanese" mores that are older than a millennium, built out of the grass-roots of Buddhism, Confucian, Taoist, and Shinto philosophies. I don't see anything that matches that here. Really, nothing at all. Glad to know that, as an American, you're a blowhard racist through and through. At least, here, most of you are static and consistent characters. No surprises here. Congratulations!

Normally, I don't go this far, but there's something really perverse about the way a lot of American (Canadian and UK) writers (especially female writers) take digs at Kishimoto on topics that are intrinsic to Japanese socio-cultural norms and mores and its schools of thoughts. Really, you've presented nothing novel or of value in these chapters, and I highly doubt you ever will; as between mediocre prose and passable grammar, there isn't really much of a story beyond the unearned, misplaced, and ill-conceived notions of self-aggrandizing penmanship, which you scarcely possess.

Cheers!
