God , I love this series. And your broken, angry, tough, cold, assassin Castle who is also so capable of love. And your Kate Beckett most of all, a fierce warrior woman who is so tender... I just love their relationship, their cover, their adventures, their angst... And now their damn dog! Love every facet of them. This huge series is such a gift...thank you. :)

This is fantastic. So very fantastic. I can't even - I don't even know where to begin.

(I've read this series in a ridiculously short amount of time. And I can't tell you how excited I am that I have 7 more installments to read because it just keeps getting better and better!)

- I'm a little bit (a lot) in love with your spy!Castle. He goes on missions. He fights bad guys. And he writes letters to Beckett. He wants to be more than who he is for her (I love their conflicts in this series, which sounds weird, but it feels so very them in this universe - Castle wanting to protect Beckett and kill Bracken, clashing with Beckett's desire to see Bracken persecuted at the full extent of the law.) I could go on and on about your Castle. I just. I just love him. And his flaws. So very beautiful. (or should I say ruggedly handsome?) That man.
- Beckett, too. Oh, how I love her. My fiercely passionate, intellectually captivating, beautifully flawed girl. (and I love that she calls Castle out, gets frustrated when he's being overbearing [bully]). She's probably one of my favorite characters - if not my favorite - of all time (including characters in books, which for me, is saying a lot). I love how you paint her.
- their missions!
- (love, baby, sweetheart.) their endearments make me want to smile. every time. I'm not sure why, but they. they are just so very in love (but also their own people). And that's beautiful to me.
- my other beloved characters (Ryan, my sweet boy. Esposito. Jim [Jim calls Castle "son"!]. Martha {damn you, Agent Black. she loved her baby boy sososo much. She was willing to fight for him. And then he was just…gone. Oh, Martha, my darling.)
- Sasha - holy geez, I've just met the puppy and I love her. (is her name also possibly a reference to Alexis?)
- lovelovelove all the allusions to the series.
- Castle and Beckett getting married. And babies. (oh my lawdy. I can't even. these two. James? so wonderful for them on so many levels - James Bond. Beckett's dad (I mean, I assume that Jim is only a nickname). A daughter would be lovely too. I can imagine spy!Castle being absolute putty when she smiles at him. Eleanor, nicknamed Nora (an homage to Nora Charles in The Thin Man), would be just. I would be without words. The thought of little Castle babies makes me melt. However, I would be perfectly content to see them flit around the globe for a little while, you know, sunny with a chance of ass-kicking kind of stuff. Being their badass selves. I would be more than okay with that too. Whatever you decide.

Oh, how I love them. And your writing. Your writing is lovely beyond lovely. Thank you so much for penning (typing?) these.

Re-reading all of the Close Encounters, and I just thought I'd mention that this is definitely my favorite one. SO GOOD. And happy with minor angst and character development and Martha and Sasha and Jim and Christmas and love love LOVE. Thanks for writing this one, hope to see a similarly toned storyline in the future :)

I had to finish this before the Easter bunny showed up at my house and I'm so glad I did. Loved this whole story - their trip around Europe, getting married, their time home, and of course, Sasha! Can't wait to read CE5!

Oh my goodness! Rick Castle pulling out all the romantic stops! What I'd give to visit those places! Ok. Will power through the rest!

Happy Easter! I'm so glad I could read new fics again. So I'm starting with this one. I can't tell you how excited I am to continue reading their journey. Love the new story and can't wait to see what Castle has instore for Rome!
