God help me, I actually discovered your tumblr before your fic account and ahhh why did I discover you so late? (I love your songs!) This seems so canon I might actually adopt it sometime. I do remember someone else I discovered a couple days ago saying Misdirection Overflow worked particularly well on Aomine, that he always seemed to pay a lot of attention to Kuroko, and maybe this is the reason for that, that maybe for all his disillusionment he couldn't let go of that mental habit? (Maybe that person was you, actually.)

Looking back at your title, maybe it's a reference to that one type of conditioning, from Pavlov's experiment? He trained himself to expect Kuroko, and then he kept doing so even when he really wasn't there. Maybe that was your prompt, even, for this story. (Agh. My thoughts sound quite disorganized, I'm sorry!)

But anyway, I see you haven't been on since 2015 and Tumblr since 2018? (Knb-wise, anyway.) Are you still into Knb? :D But oh god, a singer! And a writer! One day, I'm going to make a beautiful Knb song and it will be just as wonderful as the stuff you make. Okay?! Byeeee!

But this story went beyond my expectations. I just read your other fictions for the AoKuro pairing and clicked on this expecting an equally awesome story but this one... it hit the mark.
You have aptly captured the angst that lingers in their relationship, creating the perfect atmosphere of a beautiful friendship turned sour and full of regrets. Mostly, you portrayed Aomine Daiki better than any other author (whose story I've read, obviously).
This was perfectly balanced and engrossing. Thanks for putting up such wonderful works up here. :D

You are a wizard. This is beautiful and experienced writing that deserves a long review. How should I start? Your understanding of the characters and their apt portrayal to suit your creative plots is mind boggling and I thought only the creator (of KnB) could achieve such a feat. Your command over the language is also impeccable and makes the read even more pleasant, and let me tell you, it is a pretty pleasant one already. You made me go through a wonderful journey where everything made perfect sense and was just the right amount. The slight changes in Aomine's character were beautiful and I LOVED IT!

Okay, wow, I took a really long time to get back to reviewing your stories. Sorry about that _;; But alright, here we go again!

So for this one...I honestly don't have much to say? I feel like I should, but the only thing I really have to say is that I really love this. I feel like it's just so very simple and touched on really simple things, but at the same time, gives us a new perspective and meaning of those things. I just can't help but feel warmed by how Aomine is, I guess you could also say, warming up to Tetsu and getting used to having Tetsu around, and how he's making an effort to be able to notice Tetsu. I really love that one bit on how he just kinda throws the ball behind him without expecting anything but Tetsu's there to catch it. I can only imagine what Tetsu was feeling at that point. Also, when Haizaki was waiting for that comment, but none came cause Aomine JUST WANT TO WATCH TETSU PLAY. I just smiled. A lot. This fic just made me smile so much throughout the whole thing at honestly every little, simple thing and I guess that's why I love it so much. And it just kinda set up a bunch of new headcanons for me, haha. That ending hurt though.

So yeah, that's really all I have for this one, and it's definitely one of my favorites from you.

I love how the story flowed. One of my favorite parts was when Aomine threw the ball behind him and bewildered Kuroko. Too cute!

you conveyed aomine's happiness so perfectly in that part where his mental practice paid off in the game against midorima and them and the contentment of that accomplishment and everything. i could feel it too through the words and then IT'S SO PAINFUL BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW HE WILL CEASE TO FEEL THAT JOY IN THE FUTURE

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Cry, because this is just simply an amazing story (and I have to go to sleep soon) and it just makes my heart ache like crazy and I just wish that they could get back together again and can Kagami even do that for Kuroko and just ah. You are amazing. All your other stories are amazing too, but this one is pure gold. There are a few really good Kuroko no Basket writers on here, and you are definitely one of them; if only every author could have such insight, but we can't all have what we want can we?

Awww the story was humouring and then it went incredibly sad and serious... I was like in the zone absorbing all the words, feeling somber. Dude I really thought this was just gonna be a light and fluffy fic, which it was at first... but man I was completely wrong. *teary* It makes so much sense this is gonna be in my headcanon -no, from the start I already felt it was. I'm just gonna take a few minutes just accepting all these FEELS that is aokuro.
