Hi HS, It took a while to write this longish review because it's always a bit of a struggle for me to try to express myself in foreign language.

It was nice to read these stories one after another within a short time range. Although they were written as separate chapters the common theme they carried along was the gradual evolution of J&L's relationship from friendship to affection and then to even something more.

That meaningful scene "Jane I need you" / "It's nice to be needed" certainly deserved a closer look into. When reaching the ch 4 my mind started to get more invested: the story about the alexandrite earrings described delicately the affection between the two of them. With the affection grows Jane's worry for Lisbon's safety and both feelings are expressed in balance through the chapters.

When I opened the ch. 5 I was happily surprised to see your choice of the song that inspired the chapter's title. Just a month ago I had used the shuffle function in my phone's music player and listened this Sting's song for the first time in many, many years. From the start the lyrics reminded me of Jane:
"He deals the cards as a meditation
And those he plays he never suspect
He doesn't play for the money he wins
He doesn't play for the respect"
Getting to the part that you referred in ch 5, too, was the final hit: This song is like it's about Patrick Jane! I kept wondering if anyone else has ever made the same association and then just a few weeks later I read your story and I got my answer. What a co-incidence :)

Chapter 5 was really sweet and I have always had a soft spot for the Barsockys. I was pretty sure it would remain my favorite chapter but that was before I read ch 6. Jane describing Lisbon's room in his memory palace was such a beautiful gesture of trust and love.

I enjoyed the other chapters, too, but this review would get too long if I wrote about all of them. But Jane's thoughtful note to his sleeping beauty (ch 12) is worth a special mention (and needless to say, there can never be too many tags for the Blue Bird episode!). And in ch 13 Jane's desperation to get Lisbon into his arms after the terrifying events of Greybar Hotel's last scene was wonderfully described (I would have liked to see that scene filmed). And the bantering about baby names in ch 17. And the whole last chapter: just the perfect combination of angst and comfort while the course of the story flowed fluently. Thank you so much!

Sorry it's taken me so long to read and review this but it was definitely worth the wait. Beautifully written and the last scene in particular was wonderful, I had happy tears in my eyes throughout and could picture the scene. Thank you, and I hope inspiration strikes you soon again and you continue to write for this fandom.
