YellowWomanontheBrink chapter 8 . 12/29/2013
This was wonderful! It was an absolutely delightful read. I just love the whole verse you have set up here, and the way you write the characters was just spectacular. XD
Rose O' Sharon chapter 8 . 3/10/2013
That;s it? It's over?

Um . . . but this was really good and I want more. :(

But if that's impossible, well, thanks for what you did give me!
Rose O' Sharon chapter 6 . 3/7/2013
You're going to do it, aren't you.

You're going to write about something so heart-breaking you're going to make me cry and then I'll have to go eat an entire plate of chocolate chip cookies.

I can see you setting it up since chapter one . . .

I am on pins and needles here and really need another chapter soon . . .
Tir-far-thoinn chapter 8 . 3/9/2013
Okay, long deserved proper review *cracks knuckles, that's a lie. I can't crack my knuckles. It fits the mood though. Right*

From the very beginning to the very end you have the simplicity nailed. When you introduce the Withe it's not this long, overly confusing back story that we struggle with, and get lost in. Not only that but it's not shallow. It has real depth, the concept itself. The concept is not there, just to be there, it's there because it's dedicated and this is what the story is about. So there's good writing, and wonderful creativity in one go.

John's attitude about being Withe is not something we're just told to except, there's back story, there's content, and John is *gasp* in character. We understand where John comes from, and we naturally accept Withe as being part of his character.

I loved the intricacies, just the little things about water and the stones. How natural's aura is sort of a distraction to John's own magical aura. How John's attraction to war was that he could heal and no one would notice because "war is chaos, and chaos makes men blind". That was brilliant, I hope you're aware of that. So I like how you shifted things that maybe didn't necessarily have to be shifted, but made the story all the more better. The concept of Anchors is fantastic. This whole Withe concept on its own is fantastic. Seriously write a book. Sherlock being John's Anchor just seems perfectly natural. But it's also wonderful because people often think of it the other way around. That John is Sherlock's anchor, pulling him back down to Earth, stabilizing. So, I see what you did there.

The pigeon. Oh the pigeon. I feel like calling you a rather rude name except meaning it with the upmost respect. That was another one of those wonderfully simple yet, it'll rip your heart out later moments. John can't heal everything. *screams into pillow*.

Sherlock, by the way, was so terribly in character during the chapter where John is freaking out about Sherlock finding out he's Withe, and the whole Anchor business. Spot on. Which can be difficult when you do those "reveal" scenes. John is freaking out splendidly and Sherlock is Sherlock. It was fantastic.

The reunion. Was simple, and short and exactly what it need to be. No more, no less. Just some names, and the classic phrase: "You idiot." The Marke also sort of sealed the deal, and stole some cake. This also centers right on the heart of their relationship, this incredibly deep bond of friendship. Eternal friendship. That's BA, *mental image of someone kicking a door down*.

Oh also let's see. One last thing, the Troilus quotes...I think that's what made me fall in love with this story at first. I never mentioned them before, but yeah, I want t-shirts with those quotes. Or a really epic poster. I'm a fan of this fanfiction. Fanfanfiction. Oh dear.

If I skipped anything, I hope my previous reviews covered it in my broad spectrum declarations. Thank you for writing, and sharing.
Arty Diane chapter 8 . 3/9/2013
That was such a beautifull story! Iiked the fact that you skipped the cases and stuck to the mments in between. My favorite part was when Sherlock has redescovered candle light. Chapter seven had me teared up, I'm glad you ended it happily. The last chapter was so lovely.
Merryk chapter 7 . 3/9/2013
I found this story a chapter or two ago - haven't left a comment before. A well-crafted story in this fandom is easy enough to stumble across, but one that successfully weaves in other-worldly elements is quite a find! You have a gift for creating vivid visuals throughout. This particular chapter was exceptional, layered, as it was, with such strong emotion beneath those ravishing images of...magic itself. I also appreciated the attention you paid to keeping the characters and situation 'real' and believable, especially during this not-quite reunion. Very moving. Thank you!
Guest chapter 5 . 3/7/2013
Sooooooooo . . . my second part is where exactly? ;)

Obviously, this means that I REALLY like this and where it's going. :D

Good job on the characterization too. :D
Chiho Kazusa chapter 7 . 3/8/2013
Isn't that sweet. I love when you add John knowing Sherlock existence through the magic. I got a feeling before you post this chapter, that John eventually know sherlock still alive with his magic.
Keep going ;)
