Reviews for Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Invasion Core
johannvanguard chapter 48 . 7/23
The origins of Xaramesi was interesting and tragic. I'm glad Xaramesi defeated Maximus, which helped her and Aurea out of their jam. It looks like Phoenix and Xaramesi are becoming better friends than before. I wasn't expecting for Aurea to tell Xaramesi about the real reason about the invasion, which Xaramesi didn't take well. Xaramesi deciding to save Fabrega by helping Draconoid and Phoenix helping her with that was cool. For the next chapter, I wonder if we will know more about Xaramesi's origins or about someone else.
Antex-The Legendary Zoroark chapter 48 . 7/23
Dang! Great work on this! I really enjoyed Xaramesi’s past! Although I wonder what she’ll do now that she’s quit and has decided to save Fabrega her own way? Also, will she be able to rekindle her bone with Sakura? Or maybe she’ll find a new person to love in Phoenix like her parents met each other? Hmm...!

Insane Dominator chapter 47 . 12/13/2019
It’s been a short while since this story got updated, and I’m fortunate to see that there’s been a lot of alterations and these twists and turns that you’re making. I’m starting to see much of the matter altering from Aurea to Yurina’s point of view, and at the same time, aside from Fabregan history, history repeats with Alice becoming a similar person whom we didn’t think would return. On top of all that, we also have a lead onto the conflictions afoot with Akira as they all make way towards the altar and reach it, only to see they need Zavanna. Many matters are being assessed at once, and that’s fine, but let’s see how breaking this matter up into smaller pieces will help assess the pros and cons.

Let’s look at the prison break area. For starters, this chapter was essentially the aftermath of the prison riot and the Mechanical Bakugan losing control. This makes the guards worthless and Rogue and Lola are free. However, now that they were out, they have to decide what’s next. Andreas confronted Aiden and asked him who put him here, answering the inquiry of his reconditioning was instated by Yurina. Andreas decided to take his fight to stopping the artificial evolution of Bakugan that have been conducted out by the Badlands, the realm where the Bakugan are unstable. I have a theory why, and it has to do with malfunctioned Fabregan technology and biology hampering. Worse case scenario, it could be negative energy, similar to the Silent Core back in Season 1.
At any rate, the Alursians team up with Andreas since he was the one who got them out, and that their plan ended up being a success. I’m really liking the spotlight that Andreas is being put into here. You’ve turned him around in a very reasonable manner that makes him a relatable character who has no life, and must make use of what his time was left. Good show.
We also are met with another Bakugan, a Subterra cheetah Bakugan, and a fast one. If she battles with Lola down the road, I wouldn’t mind seeing what she can do. Andreas and Rogue thus get to something that seems much like brotherly binding. If they both do end up living this out, I wouldn’t mind seeing how these two become brothers of sorts since they have this much trust in each other.

With how the matter is going for Cameron’s group, again, we don’t get a battle, but we do end up fostering ourselves into the lore. So, it seems we have personifications to the six attributed Bakugan that are like catalysts or guardians to Draconoid. I can’t exactly say since they’re white as well, so maybe not attributed, but their elements somewhat personify their meanings. Personally I feel like a Shi myself lol
Anyways, while they managed to figure that out, they thus have to use the power of their Reversion and transfer it to Draconoid, but when they tried that, it failed. So it doesn’t take anything special besides them…rather, you made the twist by adding in Zavanna needed as a medium to be that bridge. When I look back at it, it makes sense at the direction that you’re going in for this. So this essentially means that Zavanna will be needing a placement later on. But regarding her in specifics, this is where matters start to turn uneasy.
For Garfield and Akira, they know that Heros has been on their tail for some time. Secondly, with his odd power, he learned that it was Zavanna that they needed, and I have a good feeling that he may know a lot more, but I can’t tell even if his logic will be sound. We have the whole High Council, and we also have the Neo Battle Brawlers who now need Zavanna. Basically this now turned into a race, and Zavanna might be paying a hefty price because of this.
Akira’s little world collapsing is something that I think you’re stepping on pretty lightly. She’s still trying to get over Cameron wanting Zavanna, and that isn’t his fault by any means. But she wasn’t being honest before. So having her talk with Garfield of all people really feels alleviating. From the timeskip of 2 months chapter, to now, you can see that they’re becoming great shoulders to lean on for each other. On top of Akira’s feelings for Cameron, we might be seeing how she’ll interact with Zavanna now.

To be a little frank, now I’m curious if Cera may have a thing for Cameron. If that happens, I wouldn’t mind. Lol

After the mission, we see Xaramesi and Pheonix settling down. I liked what you’re doing with the closure these two are having. Pheonix still wants to prove he’s loyal towards Aurea, but Xaramesi pointed out it’s not worth it. But now we’re going to be seeing that down the road, some backstory with Aurea and Xaramesi ay come about, and not only that, we’ll also have some new perspectives on how Pheonix takes this. Who knows, maybe this will help him make his own path like Andreas and Isolde have.

We get to another vital essence of the chapter, and that is the big battle that is Alice helping out for the others against the Fabregans and the Battle Brawlers. There were a lot of pros to what this battle’s conclusion had made. For example, the end result of the battle was that Preyas and Tigrerra were taken (again), and that Marucho had began remembering who he really was. The cons to what this battle showed, however, was that Jazz wasn’t as supportive nor strong as needed to be, and that Jax is senile and doesn’t understand that some points to one side has to be made the hard way. But overall, this change in direction towards the battle took a VERY different aspect and made it something exploratory.
Much of this has to do with what you did to bring back Masquerade, that’s the biggest topic that boggled me of all. With how Masquerade aided Alice in helping her remember herself in her earlier battle a couple chapters ago, I was expecting him to aid in her once again. Though in this light, this is something that I’m wondering about. In the earlier seasons, she was afraid of becoming Masquerade once more, so having her identity shift like this, I feel there could’ve been more of an emotional bond or impact between them before Masquerade decided to come out once more. The placement was alright, though I imagined it on a different sort of level. I would’ve made it more believable if this happened. If both Alice and Hydranoid experienced this déjà vu/memory alike, it would also make a lot of sense for their bond as well since that’s how they were able to ascertain Reversion. Masquerade appearing as a whole isn’t something I’m completely against, it’s just the incentive feels a little weak here. Back in Season 1, his final farewell and goodbye forever was back on Vestroia, so did he come back after all that time if his spirit/entity had vanished from Alice back then? It’s just something that confuses me to this day.

Regarding the battle, it was two rounds, on both accounts in fact. The 3 VS 3 match had Masquerade doing the minimal abilities, while keeping a cool atmosphere and doing a lot of damage. While Jazz on the other end failed to keep up, and didn’t spark a lot of confidence, which resulted in him getting kicked out after the first round’s loss. This left Liz and Lasquerade to hammer away at Tigrerra, Preyas, Diablo, and Raptorexx by themselves. Marvellion managed to defeat Raptorexx, while at the same time, Tigrerra is taken down by Hydranoid and retrieved by Masquerade. The small point with the Doom Card was a good recall! Overall, the abilities used against each other meshed well. Though for the OC Bakugan and their abilities, some of the names for the abilities doesn’t roll off the tongue, like Teslalpha’s magnetic field ability. Other than that, I could envision it all well. Good job.
The second round initiated solemnly with Liz and Leiya, since Runo no longer had a Bakugan by her side. For the time being, the two were dead even, with their power levels almost the same, though Raptorexx was slightly higher. But this is where Jax gets carried away with what he believed in peace. I don’t blame him for what he attempted to do, but I feel he’s still naïve about how the world works, that no one cares about the other side of the story and care for self-preservation.
The other half of the round was a throwback to the 1st season, and I didn’t complain about that one bit since you’re trying to go through old routes to get to the bottom of this story’s undertaking. With Marucho being back in the dimension where Vestroia and Earth kids would fight, Masquerade unleashed a Gate Card that seemed very familiar and didn’t fade into the ground. But regardless, the battle was oriented very well, and Preyas and Diablo/Angelo played on a lot of great assets and throwbacks to using attributes to power up. In the 2nd season onwards, the correlation and diagonal relations weren’t touched up on, but using this trick was a great throwback. And even more so with Masquerade’s anticipation. He knew Preyas’ strong point was changing attributes and thus used that against him and Diablo/Angelo to win. That’s the classic Masquerade. That seemed to have also left an impact on Marucho since he seemed to have flashes – deep ones – like Alice had. I feel that he’ll be the one next to snap out of it, but with Preyas and Angelo taken, that only leaves him with Elfin.

So, with the battle concluded, unfortunately Heros pulls them out of there, so there’s no clear winner for Leiya or Liz. I was still happy we got a clear victory for Masquerade before he departed, but I’m worried what will happen now that Jazz’s self-esteem has been hammered, and Jax didn’t get through to his friend. Moreover, now we have Alice being a lot closer to Garfield and learning about who she was, if his Reality Shift powers can do such a thing.

Yurina’s little plan to make the 4 chosen as her slaves/army is progressing along. The Memory Seal mechanic is something that is now essential in knowing. If they can rid of that, they’ll get their memories back for sure. But I have a bad feeling of where this falls in Yurina’s case, if she’s doing this while Aurea is readying to invade Earth.

Overall, the story had taken a great, drastic change of events that didn’t compromise the buildup that is to befall the interdimensional conflict. We’ve got the return of Masquerade, though the incentive and actions could’ve been more adequate, was still well maintained. Marucho and Runo lost their Bakugan, and now must fall back with Heros and Leiya. With foreshadowing to Zavanna, she will have a big subject around her much sooner than we think, and this will lead to another conflict that can result in a Fabregan race to get their planet up to speed.

The buildup is going great, and with character history coming up, we’ll be slowing down the pace some to see what adulations Liz and Xaramesi have been undertaking in their lives.

Whoo! Great chapter! Loved this. Looking forward to more along with those backstories!
johannvanguard chapter 47 . 12/2/2019
Andreas getting the info about the Badlands, heading there to stop the Artificial Catalyst evolution, and the other inmates joining him were great. Looks like Yurina and Aurea plan to finally invade Earth. Alice becoming Masquerade in both brawls and taking both Tigerra and Preyas were surprising. Good to see that Akira and Garfield are getting along well as friends. The same thing can be said for Phoenix and Xaramesi. I'm glad the Neo Brawlers made it to the altar, but need Zavanna to fully revive Draconoid. Good thing Akira and Cera are on their way to get her. I wonder who Yurina plans to have Ren, Rafe, Lena, and Zenet fight. For the next chapter, I wonder what the backstories of certain characters will be like and what other brawls we might see.
Oragonking chapter 46 . 11/4/2019
For the love of all things good, don't create love of the same gender!

Ahem! Anyway... it was surprising to see Solaria has a Succubus form. Will we see that form while not in Reversion mode?
Insane Dominator chapter 46 . 10/26/2019
I was able to get to this chapter before it went completely over my head, thankfully. Glad to see that a new one came out, and may I say that this one was oriented well in a lot of aspects, and in other places, feels very skeptical to one’s eye. There were a few battles to address; one that ended, and one that has begun. We are facing three different fronts to this plot as well, with the Fabrgans, the Neo Battle Brawlers, and the prison break. The main point of this I felt revolved around the prison breakage, but you’ve smoothed out the other points pretty well to where it felt like they mattered just as much.
In recap, we learn the history of Xaramesi and Sakuya, and how their yuri life came to fruition. We then see how Alice chose to go to Fabrega to help seek out answers, but ends up battling Runo and Marucho. The Neo Battle Brawlers make it to the hidden city, but realize they have to sneak in and become Fabregans, but in doing so Cameron’s intended distraction gave their backup team some trouble, leading to Liz, Jazz, and Alice confronting the matter since Jax cannot. Meanwhile, in the prison, the Alursians begin their riot, while Isolde manages to override the Dimension Controller. Andreas and Vesta manage to get to the Bakugan chamber, but in doing so alarmed Aiden, who was reconditioned with hypnosis and battles Andreas, who in turn passed it over to Vesta and unlocked their Reversion Forms. They defeat Aiden, and managed to free all the Bakugan present.

Right from the get-go, we are introduced to part of the backstory behind Xaramesi and Sakuya, and how they became ‘special’ to one another. The overall appeal of this flashback was subtle, and took a good step in the direction of their affections. Xaramesi is the more outgoing of the two, while Sakuya is more reserved and shy, but they do mean well, and we did see how they got accustomed to one another in earlier chapters. So here we have another piece to that puzzle, and how the concept of ‘mates’ came to mind. So this means a promise to wait for Sakuya and Xaramesi, and that’ll they be waiting for each other. Which brings us to two assumptions: How did Xaramesi end up hurting and betraying Sakuya, and when they’ll get back together. If that promise is the thread that still bound them, then by the end, we could be seeing them get back with each other when the war is – possibly – resolved. Good show.

Following the flashback and returning to the present, Darius catches her up to speed. Again, I’m liking Darius as a character because compared to others like Aurea and Yurina, and Maximus, he’s not as power-hungry, nor as domineering as them. And he feels like a reasonable supporter when he wants to be, since he caught Xaramesi up to speed. So it was revealed after her loss, she was pardoned because she went Reversion multiple times in one day, and due to overworked, Aurea let it slide. Yurina, who appealed in her place, smoothed it out, but she noticed that Xaramesi was ‘lost’, implying she is aware of her emotionally unstable state. And by the conversation she had with Aurea, we’re seeing that she might be pulled away coming up. With all this, we’ll be seeing Xaramesi possibly less in action, and more into her emotional state.

With what Julie saw before, she saw the captives of their invasions on Gundalia and Neathia were inside incubation pods, many whom are Zenet, Lena, Ren, Rafe, and Linus, so hence we are going to be seeing how they will be assessed coming up, and how they will become part of the Fabregan army to strengthen themselves.
We now have 2 of the big three oppositions eradicated; Dan and Ren, with Drago’s many powers he has for his previous evolutions, and then Linehalt’s Forbidden Powers. That leaves only Keith, with Helios’ engineering. With them on the opposition’s end, how will they stand against these two forces together?

Looking at the section of Rune in one go, Runo, Marucho, Heros – the Subterra High Council – and lastly the promoted student Leiya. They arrived to the abandoned city before the Neo Battle Brawlers to intercept them before they get to the altar. Heros is older than Maximus, but it’s still too early to tell if he’s just as childish, or perhaps calmer and wiser. The way he looked at Garfield earlier was a sign. He didn’t rat them out yet from that display, so it seems he’s more of skepticism.
Meanwhile, the Neo Battle Brawlers went and had their own thing going on. To be honest, the whole plan felt lowly executed. Their initial plan was to have most of them go down and blend in with the other Fabregans. While the other group hangs back and sees if they need backup. It’s a basic approach and I understand it, but aside from bailing out, they’re here on an important basis, and lives matter. If they had one team go through the gate posts and another goes around, or possibly a way underground, then that would increase their chances than being plucked out. Because even though Akane was able to pull off disguises, they were still detected from inside – mostly because Cameron pointed them out unintentionally. Like Akira said, that was pretty stupid to have done. And instead of them, now it’s their backup who is taking the brunt of it all.
Speaking of backup, I feel the way you pulled off Jax was immature for his character. He rushed in absent-mindedly, and now he’s in the middle of a big dilemma. He’s made new friends/acquaintances, but he can’t bring himself to attack Leiya, whom betrayed him. So in his place, we have Alice, who reappeared due to crossing dimensions to find Garfield and battled with Liz and Jazz. So we have a Darkus, Aquos, and Haos battle commencing.

In this chapter especially, I’m not feeling so clingy to Vesta and Jax especially, those two I felt got themselves into trouble that I can’t seem to understand at this time. In realistic sense, if Jax was going to help his friends, he shouldn’t have rushed into battle without a plan. He felt a little more immature compared to Cameron, and in doing so, now he CAN’T help because he can’t choose. In real life, you have to make tough decisions. If Jax can’t see that, then he should’ve stayed further away.
And Vesta, I felt her case a little too let-on. I know she’s a child around Garfield’s age, but that was too sappy. Overall I do get the point that Solaria had to be converted back to being good, but like Jax, it just felt she was in the way and was using the usual basis of tears and calling out. The cries I understand, but tears were overdone. So aside from Daro, Yurina, and Maximus, Jax and Vesta are amongst them.

So, while the Rune City part was covered with a battle unfolded, we are indulged in the prison break plan, which I felt was much better executed compared to the first half in terms of orientation. So it has to do with a basic fight turning into a riot, to cause confusion and knock out some guards. In doing so, Isolde would go ahead and dismantle the Dimension Control to get the Mechanical Bakugan to run wild. While that happens, Andreas and Vesta would go down and liberate the other Bakugan. The way it was plan seemed more sound that I don’t have any complaints about it. And from what I’ve seen, the execution went very well. I liked how Andreas is coming to buddy-buddy terms with Rogue. I’m starting to like the both of them as characters. I would hope to see them as allies and bond a little more as the story progresses.

Down further in the prison, we see a rather uncouth sight, with mutated Bakugan. Imagining a Hynoid like that was pretty gross. If the scene that that shiverish alone, I wonder what more of these Bakugan would look like. But we did see that amongst the Bakugan there, there was Sirenoid, who was one of the first Bakugan we’ve seen taken earlier in the story by Isolde when he was still fighting for the Fabregans.

Now, here’s the part where I felt a little iffy, and it has to do with Aiden appearing overall. First of all, we didn’t get any forewarnings about him since his demotions around 10-11 chapters ago. If we had known Aiden was going to be here, we could’ve used some sort of hint last chapter, or maybe a note by Aurea about the prison. Having him battle was a surprise, but maybe the placement there felt unnecessary. Last we heard, he was sent out to the wastelands and reconditioned, so I figured he would’ve met the Neo Battle Brawlers or something. And we also see that amongst the Bakugan, it wasn’t a new one or a Mechasaurus. Also, why just Andreas with his Bakugan back, if Vesta could’ve had hers back, too, as well as Hydrapent to face a 1-time powerful Darkus Bakugan Aiden was given or systematically created. The way I would’ve seen it, they’d get their Bakugan out of their containments and then possibly ambushed by Aiden and battle him, all three of them. This would’ve been a good way for all THREE of them to potentially get Reversion forms than just Vesta. I noted a few times I would’ve liked to see more of Gleamroller and Hydrapent speak if that were possible, but I guess we’ll have less chances now. I said before the way Vesta acted along with Solaria to bring her back to her senses and battled felt childish. The fairy/succubus transformation for Reversion was a neat change, which I liked, but I guess with how serious things are being right now, this kind of act feels out of left field.

By the end with Vesta using her Reversion to purify the Bakugan and make them come to their senses, she was able to gain new allies to help in their struggle against the prison guards, and take over the prison, which is a big success from the looks of it.

So, overall, this chapter had ups and downs, some matters which felt appropriate, and others could’ve been planned better. Xaramesi’s past was a key that needed to be looked at, and we got some foreshadowing with the Gundalians apprehended that will be additions to the enemy forces. There is some middle ground basis that I wasn’t sure of like Alice and Hydranoid because of theories, but the way you’re going about it will spark some memories once more. The downsides were the Rune City execution, and the battle that Andreas was in, but wasn’t able to finish. Those two prime aspects didn’t feel planned enough, or if so, it felt like it would’ve lead to mistakes. Some areas were feeling left field like Aiden especially, and other characters I felt hindered others in their time to grow, like Jax and Vesta. But we’re still getting to the altar, which will lead to Heros present, and it looks like Garfield might get his character’s chance as well. And along Xaramesi’s case, we’ll also be seeing even more of her character. Hopefully this extends to what the case may be for Liz and Jazz’s current personalities.

So this was in the middle, but I can definitely say that I anticipate what next chapter will be about, and I hope to see more of it soon!

Seems nice to see old characters be honoured, had thought maybe can have ideas like enemy characters from bakugan battle trainer as new enemies, or also Leonidas and vladitor too?

Very nice! I enjoyed this! Good to see an update too after so long! Keep it up Switch!
johannvanguard chapter 46 . 10/22/2019
That was an interesting backstory of how Xaramesi and Sakuya came to terms with their feelings for each other. I wonder what Julie will do with what she saw and what Yurina and Aurea might do with Xaramesi. Good thing the Neo Brawlers made it to Rune, but the Fabregans, Runo, and Marucho were already there. I'm glad the disguises and Cameron's deceit allowed them to get inside unnoticed and they might reach Draconoid's altar. Too bad for Liz and Jazz that they had to fight Leiya, Runo, and Marucho. It's great that Alice made it to Fabrega to help the heroes fight and bring Runo and Marucho to their senses. The prison riot went well with the guards distracted and Andreas and Vesta reaching the area underneath the Temple City Prison. Too bad Andreas and Vesta found some Bakugan experimented on and Aiden with their Bakugan and Hydrapent. Good thing Andreas was given Gleamroller to fight Aiden and Solaria. I'm glad Vesta got Solaria and Pixi back and unlocked her Reversion forms. Vesta and Solaria taking over the fight against Aiden and getting back Hydrapent was great. I wasn't expecting for Vesta to purify the experimented Bakugan and for them to help the heroes out. Great to see that Andreas seems to be getting along well with Vesta. I'm excited to see how the other battle, the search for the altar, and the prison riot turns out.

Insane Dominator chapter 45 . 7/10/2019
Okay, I’m not too terribly late, but at last we finally get to a chapter that was well worth it. There’s been mixed feelings that I have been having throughout the whole chapter, and a mass of it is around characterization. The most part was extremely promising, whereas others left me more than a little confused of what actions were best taken. Regardless of how I felt, you didn’t disappoint. We were scattered all over the place, with Alice and Maia going through their memory phases, to Ren and Linehalt’s personal developments, to Sakuya and Xaramesi’s emotional ellipse. Drama was one thing, but you’ve also extended great deals of action that certainly made this chapter more than worth its own weight can pull. In short, you’ve built up just as much tension and action as you did epic changes that will revolutionize the Bakugan universe.
So in short, what happened was that Phoenix decided to hang around Xaramesi’s place, and Alice and Hydranoid decide to believe in each other to find these memories. Meanwhile on Neathia, Shun and Xaramesi reach Fabia, who is reluctant to battle a friend. Kimiko arrives to save the day, with Reversion to push back their forces. Though Neathia was saved, Gundalia fell, despite Ren and Linehalt undergoing Reversion. Sakuya and Akira have a moment before the Fabregans head to Rune, beating them to it. And within the city limits, Andreas is ready to begin the Alursian rebellion.

I’m gonna knock the two big battles out of the way first. With Ren and Nurzak against Maximus and Yurina, it probably had to be one of the longest, and perhaps most intense battles that you had to have written up to date. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still discouraged that the Gundalians lost in the end and the Fabregans can start their takeover on that planet, but throughout the entire way, you’ve had shown the trifles and the adulations that Ren and Nurzak went through to push breaking points. From the Lv 3 Battlgear Sabator had to use, to Linehalt and Ren being the only ones standing. In a long expanse of epic combat, you’ve dove into even the mentality of the Gundalians because Yurina’s own experience and mind games. Thank you again, and I am sure that this battle proves of such an emotional milestone over the past several months.
Daro’s babyish loss left Yurina to take his place. Despite a lower power level, her Bakugan was proven to be more than capable of handling the situation. It was staggering how Maximus and Yurina underwent Reversion at the same time, so we knock off all the Reversion Forms of the High Council except for Subterra and Aquos. She and Maximus repel Sabator and Linehalt, even with their Battkegear. I’ve noticed quite often how Kyubis’ power level barely and hardly gets above 1000 in the fight, while the others are found to be above that a lot. Usually when I figure of Pyrus Bakugan in general, I feel they’re about gaining power and increasing their own, but that’s typical deportment of them as far as I’m concerned. You still had Yurina defeat Sabator, leaving Nurzak out of the fight. With one down, that left Ren and Linehalt. And this is where the sheer epicness struck! You went and made them have a Reversion Form beyond their forbidden power. I was wondering about that power Linehalt had, and you went ahead and fiddled with it to logical terms. Ren and Linehalt have been through a lot, so it makes sense that they entrust the other with bonds and power. The names of Linehalt’s abilities like Poseidon’s Rage and Purgatory Blade sent shivers down my spine. The very descriptions felt epic, just as much as Maximus being taken out by one blow.
Yurina and Ren’s one-on-one was a super heavy and a very intense clash that I was barely grasping. It was deeply detailed, and the backlash of attacks the other received was the fight that Yurina relished in. She never got an opponent this long before that sent shivers down her spine. The skills they both shared and rise and falls of the other towards the end was a sheer display that I give a round of applause to you. Still, at the end of the day, it came down the experience, which is what Yurina had over Ren and Linehalt. They put up an awesome fight, and that’s putting it mildly, but at the end of the day Gundalia had fallen.

So this brings me back to my earlier inquiries. I remember very well of the king either wanting to have in his possession or disposing Dan Kuso, Spectra, and Ren because of Linehalt’s Forbidden power – which is now Reversion. So that only leaves Spectra as the free-will person left. With Ren captured, and Yurina having a particular interest in him, I’m questioning now what becomes of him?

On Neathia, another battle was waged on a similar scale of epic forward confrontation. We have Fabia and Kimiko’s arrival to stop Xaramesi and Shun, two Ventus battlers and very prominent Fabregan soldiers. Fabia’s initial response to Shun’s arrival felt appropriate, but throughout the confrontation it was getting very stale. I felt that maybe even though Fabia knew it was wrong, she had to stop using her words since Shun is as stubborn and distant amongst all the Battle Brawlers. In Mechtanium Surge and the original series, it was crystal clear by then that he usually battles solo and thinks his own way. I was a little stunned he and Skyress didn’t have a Reversion Form this time around though. With his determination from a few chapters back, it was a little nerve racking. But realistically, Julie hasn’t neither. It was only Alice at this point who underwent Reversion first. Her bond with Hydranoid must be a lot stronger than Dan and Shun with their own Bakugan is that ever happened.
Shun and Xaramesi confront her, but as the battle progressed, Aranaut found himself at a disadvantage being two on one. Plus they were Ventus Bakugan, so Shun and Xaramesi could’ve done the whole Haos to Ventus diagonal relationship. That being said, there were quite a few repetition of abilities here and there, but nothing too drastic. But just be wary of too much ability repeating than just diversity. The overall usage of Aranaut’s own abilities used in defense and offense were good as well. Some double abilities and consecutive activation was keen, and you delivered well when Kimiko came in and save the day with Lycanine. The Lycan Bakugan had some work done, with new abilities and greater strength thanks to the battles against Gus, or at least with the help of Spectra’s modifications. It was an even fight, and yet even through it, Shun was getting vague flashes of Fabia. So that leaves only Julie and Runo to be ones without any vague flashes of memories buried inside of them.
Then came the climax: Reversion. Since Shun and Fabia weren’t able to do Reversion yet, they weren’t as lucky when it came to Xaramesi and Kimiko’s personal clash of the ferocious animals. It was a catfight! With Spectra’s Reversion X ability, Reversion was possible for Kimiko and Lycanine. They looked pretty intense, and that’s putting it mildly when it came to stamina and mentality. Since Kimiko hadn’t fought yet, she had a bigger advantage since Xaramesi had been mentally and physically worn down by Rubanoid and Raptorix. She also got some guilt flashes by Sakuya in her head. It was basically her mind playing games on her fatigued form, and she wasn’t able to continue after a few more rounds. So, for the first time, we’ve seen Xaramesi go down.
And just when the stubborn Shun was going to go the whole way on his own, we get an epic entry of Daro, who came to pick up Xaramesi and Shun. If Shun fought Daro, Spinark would’ve eaten Skyress alive! Speaking of which, the Spinosaurus making a rainfall for Neathia is just as epic. This battle at the end ended with no outcome officially decided, so that leaves one battle finished and another to be decided. I personally wished that Shun lost a little earlier, so that way we get some semblance of a clear winner. There have been a LOT of fights I’ve counted where the winner isn’t decided. It was there when Spectra and Aurea, and several others. For future reference, I hope that there are more, clearer ended fights.

Now for individuals, this is where it got tricky at some points.
I liked what you’re doing with Phoenix and how he’s starting to become self-aware of himself. He’s becoming likeable on my account. Maybe the cat may not like him…yet, but who knows, it might snuggle up to him. Is it wrong that I can see him going to New Vestroia to get a Ventus Bakugan of his own? For some weird reason, I can see an Atmos. You know, because it sounds like Almos.

Alice’s part is getting intriguing. Clearly her grandfather is worried sick about her and what’s happened. It’s evident that he wants to stop her and keep her safe, but he is also aware she can make her own decisions, and this is something that they both became aware of.
This is also where we see how much Alice and Hydranoid depend on one another. Realistically, they’re the closest friends they could have, and that’s saying a lot. I smiled when you described how Alice is doing this for Hydranoid as much as it was her. They’re a team and family, hence why Reversion became so clear now.

Now these next two I feel a little off about. There was something about BOTH Yurina and Maia’s personalities that just felt weird. Maia didn’t feel nearly as desperate as last chapter, and Yurina I thought was mature. I know what her real identity is and I can empathize with her experience, but I didn’t think Yurina could be so childish. And Maia I couldn’t fully understand why she was so deluded. We know Alice and Maia are now on active answer searches, but Maia is too irrational at this point to fully comprehend.
On Maia’s half, I was stunned at how you implemented Lumagrowl of all Bakugan. I wasn’t expecting him to come around, or where he’s been all this time. But I would like to see him more down the road, via battle or helping Maia as a side-partner. Liaru is another Bakugan as well, and seems he’s familiar to Lumagrowl as well. Just what is going on I wonder?

So characteristically, I let that it was a 50/50 the whole way. Maybe it was the months you’ve spent away, but these characters the Fabregans are having are feeling more immature than I pegged them as. Yurina had a mysterious vibe around her, but this time she was like an arrogant child. Maybe that has to do with her home world and how she ended up as a member of the High Council, but with how it’s perceived as far as the others go, she isn’t what I thought. Same with Maximus. For a middle-aged man, he was incomprehensible and immature. He so stuck-up that he couldn’t process losing to Ren and stammering away. It was a little ridiculous. As far as the sane ones, all I really can tell are Xaramesi, whose past we understand, and Daro, who is confident, but I feel is more reasonable. We haven’t seen the Subterra battler yet, but I hope he’s not as arrogant as Maximus, Aurea, or Yurina.

With the rest of the plot, we also get a small Sakuya and Akira moment. It’s clear at this point we have a little yuri with Sakuya/Xaramesi. The two clearly have seen apparitions of the other, and the points made from either side are just their mentalities trying to get fixed, but are only denying themselves further along the road of self-destruction. So this is where the alter-ego of Sakuya is stemmed from, a new personality like Masquerade that we saw a little while back. Once they reconcile and overcome their pasts, the apparitions and the dark demeanor of Sakuya might disappear forever. However, I fear that will still be a long strife to come.

And now it looks like Andreas is getting the rebellion started. Everything is setting into place, and the Alursians who were against him are starting to see eye to eye. Phoenix and Andreas were able to change, but Darius and Hydrapent must also act! This buildup is looking to be heavy!

In the long run, and after an extensive description of everything that I found and went through, this chapter gets a good thumbs up. You’ve compacted the deepest aspects of Ren and Linehalt into critical points to their ends, and leading to a cliffhanger of what Yurina and/or the king intends to do with them. The drama between Xaramesi and Sakuya is just as intense and how you’re showing their guilts and the insanity being brought into skepticism. Regardless of that, however, characterization could’ve used some maturing for the High Council, but you were able to overshadow that with even more cliffhangers. With the Neo Battle Brawlers on a race towards Rune to revive Draconoid, next chapter is going to have battles of possibly the others taking on more Fabregans and maybe some of the other Brawlers who are still unclear of their brainwashing. Alice’s next steps is still something I am very anxious about, and I hope Dan and her face off. Maybe Hydranoid and Drago’s quarrel will snap them out of it, but that’s for you to decide. There’s also the Gundalians that were taken hostage for Experiment K to be molded into Fabregan weapons of their own.

Great job man, and hopefully the next chapter will be just as concrete as this one was, if not more!

johannvanguard chapter 45 . 7/9/2019
There was a lot of drama and action compacted into this chapter. Good thing Phoenix found shelter in Xaramesi's apartment for a while, and Alice is on her way to getting back her true memories. The brawl with Xaramesi and Shun against Fabia and Kimiko was great, especially with the heroes winning it thanks to Xaramesi being too tired from her Reversion form. The brawl with Yurina and Maximus against Ren and Nurzak was great, especially with Ren unlocking his Reversion form. Too bad that the Gundalians lost and Ren was taken by Yurina. Maia was really frustrated about her memories, but luckily Lumagrowl showed up to help her out. I feel bad that the Fabregans made it to the ancient city Rune just as the Neo Brawlers got there. For the next chapter, I wonder how the Neo Brawlers will do against the Fabregans in Rune and how the prison break for Andreas and the others in Temple City will turn out.
