Perhaps I'm wrong but in America everyone (who is allowed to buy/own a gun) can carry it in their home. So they couldn't kich in the door or police would do it nonstop in e.g. Texas.

I really love your characterization.

Of course Gibbs will push to be read in whatever classified mission/project he comes across.

In canon it might be to show that he is a hardass marine and an exceptional investigator who will leave no stone unturned.

But it fits so well in this story that it is because of his arrogance.

For project like Stargate it is really on need-to-know basis.

And Gibbs, you don't need to know.

I wonder why the file he keeps at last is not found out... as well as the newly taken photos.

O'Neill is too nice to give Gibbs another chance when he shows up at the funeral after being reminded his oath and ordered to forget everything.

After watching the show and reading fanfictions that Gibbs gets away with almost everything, it is quite nice to see that he can't bulldoze his way through this mess.

Really want a sequel where Gibbs tries to investigate the 'MC/AF UNIFIED PROJECT' again and get his ass kicked by Jack.

I really enjoyed this story. While I don't necessarily agree with all of your characterizations of the NCIS characters - in fact, I believe this story showcased their worst attributes and flaws while ignoring or minimizing their positive traits - it didn't stop me from finishing the story, so kudos for that. On the other hand, your Jack O'Neill and the various Washington military personnel who back up the Stargate program were all awesome. I really liked your portrayal of Jack, the military man and hero. One thing I do wish you'd done more with was the rest of the SGC, but since they weren't involved in the story, having them there would've been a distraction or just unnecessary.

A few things that I think have probably already been commented on is that O'Neill is in fact an Air Force Academy graduate (at least, according to the SG-1 novels if not the actual show), but that's an irrelevant point for this story, and by the later seasons of SG-1/Atlantis/Universe, the SGC (and Homeworld Command) was almost an entire joint services command (with the Air Force still the largest section and the Marines second, but there was references to both Army and Navy personnel being represented, albeit by a much fewer margin).

Once again, keep up the good work, and I hope to see more eventually.

Really good so far. You have the team spot on.

I realize this was, for you, years after this was written. I think is a great story, with excellent attention to maintaining the characters we know and love, while providing believable insights into their thoughts and actions. Personally, there have been many times when I thought that Gibbs - especially considering his Marine service - would have disciplined Tony with more than a smack on the head. On the show I never saw Tony be the 'excellent' agent that Gibbs claimed. I loved your descriptions of Abby and her interaction with Gibbs. Dead on! I also consider O'Neill to be 'the best of the best.' I can only think that he never received the Medal of Honor simply because it would have made him too visible. Anyway, thank you for sharing your writing!
